🇫🇷 Showrunner, réalisateur et scénariste américano-iranien né en France, il a réalisé deux épisodes de Wayward Pines (2015) avant de co-créer avec Brit Marling deux séries immédiatement devenues cultes : The OA (2016-19) et Un Meurtre au bout du Monde (2023). Deux séries à suspens qui parlent d’amour avec des composantes fantastiques intégrant les univers virtuels et l’Intelligence Artificielle sans en masquer les dangers. Zal Batmanglij préside cette année le jury de la compétition internationale retrace les étapes de sa carrière et dévoile les coulisses de ses créations en duo avec Brit Marling.
🇬🇧 French-born Iranian-American showrunner, director and screenwriter, he directed two episodes of Wayward Pines (2015) before co-creating with Brit Marling two series that immediately roused a cult following: The OA (2016-19) and A Murder at the End of the World (2023). Two suspense series about love, with fantastical components that integrate virtual worlds and Artificial Intelligence without masking its dangers. Zal Batmanglij chairs this year’s jury for the International Competition, and will be meeting the audience to retrace the different stages of his career and reveal the behind-the-scenes aspects of his creative duo with Brit Marling.
