Thanks Greg. Chas's lines are amongst my favourites and Dimples is one I've not been able to work out or find. Thanks to you I can get to learn it.

No worries Chris. I’m doing a full play-through of Dimples next week so that will help you even more.

Many moons ago I saw the Animals and met Chas . I was in awe. Not so much for his bassist skills but the entire package . He took the time to chat with me and I touched the hand that touched Hendrix ....I feel light headed just thinking about it ! lol

That’s so great! I would have loved to have met Chas. He was indeed the whole package!

@@GregsBassShed It was crazy how small the venue was . Little in the way of security . It was like watching a local band in a little speak easy but of course much better . Things used to be much more informal and allot of these icons were very approachable . Now if you get within 5m the entire security is in your face.I remember saying to Eric Burdon that if Chas got too big for his britches I could sit in the bass chair . Everyone laughed at that one Lol The ticket was $12.50 CAD . I still have the stub .

This lesson taught me that I haven't listened to the Animals closely enough. The live version of this tune with The Animals and Sonny Boy Williamson is ridiculously cool too. Thanks for this one!

Thanks for the tip, I haven't heard that. I love a bit of Sonny Boy!

Thanks Greg for this blues bass information. Chas' blues bass playing is very versatile; very nice. I listened to the stereo version, which is a great way to study Chas. With Fender's Riffstation software, his bass can also be heard very well in the right channel. Thank you and have a nice Sunday.

Good tip with the software, sounds like a good way to hear bass more clearly.

Love Chas Chandler's bass playing thanks. Back in the day he was one of the few you could hear clearly in the mix. I think that the Animals producer, Mickey Most said it was to hear the excitement of the bass. How about some Leo Lyons from Ten Years After Undead - great walking bass.

I love it when bass as prominent in the mix! I feature Leo Lyons in my Birth Of British Blues video course, another great walker!

Thanks man! Found myself at a jam recently and couldn't provide a decent groove for a blues. A little embarrasing to be honest haha

It’s happens! It’s about working out what style of bass line works. Sometimes it’s a riff or groove or walking bass. You’ll get there.
