In this episode of the speedrun series (700-900 Elo), I demonstrate how fundamental chess principles can turn early mistakes by opponents into powerful advantages. My opponent creates an early pin with a premature queen move, but I show how such setups can be exploited and turned to our benefit. By staying calm and focusing on development, I neutralize the threat and position myself for a winning attack.
A key concept I highlight in this game is "the threat is often stronger than the execution." Instead of immediately grabbing material, I constantly create new threats and force my opponent into uncomfortable positions. This mindset allows us to dictate the pace of the game and force errors from our opponents.
Watch closely as I demonstrate how patience, development, and creating ongoing problems for your opponent can lead to a decisive advantage, even against players who use aggressive tactics early on.
If you're looking to improve your chess fundamentals and climb the rating ladder, this episode is a must-watch!

I'm really excited about this series! Just stumbled across it and watched all 4 episodes. I'm a big fan of your content and teaching style. I think speedruns are one of the best ways to digest chess teaching, as we can see you apply the principles in an array of different real-world situations. So this is going to be great! This video was super fun, in particular :) I do encourage you to post videos of all the games. I've always found speedrun content at my own rating to be the most instructive, so I'm sure your

At first his gambit attempts were interesting. But moves like ....f6-f5? and ...fxe4? and so ...Qe7 -Qxe4? were beginner's mistakes. He didn't know what development meant. The way Black played, I played as a beginner. Black didn't even know the value of a pin. These are usually the first lessons I learnt as a chess player beginner.

With all these stupid gambits, its often best just to take the pawm & dont cling onto it, carry on with your game if they get their pawn back, material is equal but your'e ahead in development.

I climbed to 1550 blitz 5 min time control and i mess around in open challenges and getting smoked by 800s to 1200s on cheatcom. Its annoying. Yesterday i played a i think 1256 player who played the daimino defense type set up (wasnt exactly same move order) which is basically losing with that knight sac on e4 then queen h6 check and then all of a sudden he starts playing extremely accurate and destroyed me without ever developing his queen side. I essentially had all my pieces developed and said to myaelf surely im completely winning and of course he played all the top engine moves when it came to king safety. Cheating is absolutely out of control and they dont even ban accounts anymore. Couple years ago some of my live pages were 🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫 all the way down some days. Now a days nothing. Its making me lose passion for chess. Find myself playing less and less.

Of course cheatcom is the giant in Internet chess so anyone who questions cheating is insane and everyone else is bought and paid for. All the way up to Magnus being partnered to them. Lichess seems to me much better. I play 2000s on there and their moves dont feel engine like. I can understand and have chances. Tactics open up. I play a 800 on cheatcom and im getting absolutely squeezed to death.
