Me as well, lol. I seem to be getting the hang of normal Combat and Combo'ing, but i can not for the life of me, time any Torgal combos. Also. Using his Heal is impossible as im dead by the time i try and use it, lmao.

i've became a fan of manually triggering torgal over the course of the demo, you can always do a precision sic/ravage after burning blade. And he's veeery useful to juggle enemies, and on bosses his multi hit is great for stagger multiplier

It’s gonna be tough balancing what accessories I want, cuz the Torgal stuff seems like an unnecessary amount of “I need to pay attention” like Shadowbringers Summoner was, and I’m almost definitely gonna be using the Focus accessory, so that only leaves one spot open for anything else, like the Combo Ring, or the EXP or Gil accessory.

@@CorynSilver tbh just leave torgal off. He's good to coordinate air combos, but triggering randomly he wont offer all that much. If anything its a pain in the butt when you wanna attack the enemy on the ground and he suddenly knocks it away to the other side of the screen without your input. You're better off just having an accesory empower your favorite eikonic skill instead

added tip when fighting Bereditka. She got me in Deadly Embrace and about to Combo me to death. You can break out of her Grapple with the Limit Break. Was a Nice pinch to get out of it all.

@@RobK-rl6sn The demo included a version of her fight where you have Phoenix/Garuda/Titan as eikons and limit break unlocked. In the main game that's mainly just applicable for new game plus and level replays.

exactly! the magic burst combos are deep and part of the base combat! love it! you can feel the timing of the combos with the vibration of the controller, love it!

My biggest issue is just really not clicking with any of the control schemes. Having to pick between dodge mapped to circle or square for the main attack isn’t a great choice

I agree. None of them feel great to me. I think I will resort to using the PS5's remapping feature. It sucks for on-screen button prompts but I don't see myself getting fully comfortable with the offered schemes.

Thanks for the tips. I've played through the demo over a dozen times and I'm good on everything except air juggling. I can do them, but they require so much focus that I'd probably get blown up in harder content.

From my experience which I have not beat the game yet not even close. The harder content you can't juggle them anyway. For me the harder ones have always been too big to juggle. You can basically juggle the easy mobs

Something I don't see people talk about, especially in comparison to other action games, is how much emphasis there is on Defense in this game. DMC for example has a Dodge and Parry just like FF16, but neither is as powerful. And Dante has Trickster and Royal Guard, but Trickster is much the same as a manual dodge and Royal Guard is very much a playstyle thing. Vs Clive who has a Dodge that lets you counter with melee or magic, a Parry that slows down time, Titanic Block/Titanic Counter, Cold Snap/Permafrost, and at LEAST 3 different Counter-attack skills. As someone who likes to learn boss movesets and counterattack, I'm a big fan.

I agree the counter ability is closer to clouds counter ability in ff7 remake. You not going to be able to beat the hard bosses without getting efficient at it. Already thinking of how to build clive defensively and offensively with skills mastery.

I appreciate the end commentary. Games like this are too intimidating and too much for me to remember combos or all the things that are available. I simply just forget that things exist. Like Torgal. If I don't have the Auto Torgal ring on I just forget he's there and never use him. Then I see videos like this with all the flash combos and feel bad that my brain doesn't work that way. Honestly it's a miracle I ever beat DMC 1-4 😅 My only real complaint is that the Timely Accessories are accessories and not menu options. It feels like I'm being punished for not being good enough and needing help by not being able to use the regular accessories as the slots are taken up. Might just be a me thing though.

The only nit pick of the demo is that I want a Control scheme that lets me have Dodge on O and keep everything else the same. The only Layout that has it has Full DS controlls wich I dont like in this case because combat is much faster than any DS game.

I felt the same but after playing the demo enough, I realized, that there are precious few times we are expected to dodge, as the counters in this game are nearly infinite. Like you have 3 available counters outside of titan block that all stop time. By the time your getting around to actually being to dodge anything, your forgetting where dodge is, or the thing is already dead. And circle works much better for what is connected to it.

you’re using the ring of timely strikes in one of your 3 accessory slots. unequip that and replace it with something else and try again.

I am NOT a action game player. FFXV and KH are the extent of my "action" experience, which should you an idea. I'll likely be using Torgal and the dodge timing accessories. I do want to try and get used to linking all these combos, but I can tell I won't be a master anytime soon. So long as I'm having fun and can enjoy the story is all that matters to me.

It took me 4 ywars to beat the bloody palace in dmc5. But trust me, eventually, you CAN get to that level. And the ride is amazing.

Best advice I can give is don't hold yourself to the standard of experienced players. Mess around with mechanics and actions until you can start coming up with your own combos, even if it's a simple thing like Lunge -> Burning Blade. Making your own two-step or three-step combos is a great start to getting familiar with the mechanics.

@@DrGrabAss. think about it like this. You are making an investment in a video game. This game will end when you are satisfied with your skill level and challenges you've completed. That alone should warrant you to try it out, as the value is potentially endless. It for me, 4 years (and I never even did behold Vergil content 😅).

You can't use them in Final fantasy Mode

There are still Story and Action modes in NG+. There is also Final Fantasy Mode, where once you start you cannot switch back to Story or Action. Not sure if you still can find the accessories in Final Fantasy Mode (I’m guessing no).

Not going to lie, was blown away by the demo and love the combat , but I was getting all confused in the more intense boss fights just cycling through buttons and all the flashing I’m pretty sure I’ll have an epileptic seizure halfway through the game, but as long as I kill Barnabus I’ll die happy 🙏🗡️💥

If you want too really efficiently pump up the stagger damage multipleir, it's alot better chaining your big damage eikon abilitys and doing your most damaging Eikon ability in the end. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJvbi3-LnM2tm9k here is a link of me showcasing it, also this is pretty much the highest damaga stagger combo you can do in the demo by far

I don't hate the combat, but I hate the combat given that final fantasy normally is turn based. This leans action rpg, I like that for asuras wrath Bayonetta nier but I don't like it for FF. Amazing to watch though
