I’ve done well there Paul with a Dave Harrell no2 Shallow Stick, say 7 no4, with a bulk. Nice domed top to see but discreet enough to catch them off the bottom without the need for a 5 or 6g olivette.

I'm Trying to find a top and bottom float that's heavy enough to pull line off and be able to mend the line against, but can still have little or no shot down the line, I could used the commercial carp style pellet wagglers when running through which would stop the need for big shot on the line, creating a weak point, but a self loaded top and bottom float that's say 3/4grams and takes a few number sixs would be perfect. don't suppose you know any brand that does such a thing? I think I may have just come up with a new float idea! I need to ring Dave Harrel!

Totally agree regarding moving bait and meat Paul, it works on the Wye as well although I find bacon grill more effective but it’s probably just personal preference.

Hi Michael, ive never tried bacon grill or seen it in the shops. I will have to find myself some.

I used a DH mega stick 6 gram on the Wye, peperami on the hook. Seemed to work okay.

DH had a great tsnge of floats. Just really fancy a self loaded stick for a light shotting pattern

When I was a member of Scunthorpe I don't think they had fishing rights as far down as your fishing Paul.. It used to be Notts Piscatorial down there so may be worth a quick check just to be sure your not fishing water you shouldn't be. I'm not certain where one finishes and the other starts but I do know it's down there somewhere..

You are on Peg 24/25 but you are fishing through pegs 26 and 27 so its ok when its quiet I guess!!!

Thanks for watching. You are dead right i hadn't thought that i was fishing over 2 swims. I'm not used to busy river etiquette as my local rivers are devoid of other anglers and you can fish where you like. Ill be more considerate next time. Tight lines
