Today, I'll demonstrate the power of the Prusik knot and how to achieve high tension on a rope without special equipment.

Although a decent tensioning system, Very complicated time consuming system, truckers hitch is quicker and just as effective on a taught ridge line.

If your rope is too thick to properly perform the truckers hitch then this method could be used by prusiking a smaller line to it and using a truckers hitch or other tensioning system to apply tension to the thicker line, so not completely useless.

On our property, we do not have a wooden fence or anything like that so they have a bit of privacy. If I’m doing some kind of project outside, I’m gonna use this method and attach a tarp to it of course as if it was a fence for privacy I think this will help out good thanks.

You might be able to secure your stick winch by tying a small alpine butterfly in line with the prusik. This would hold one side of the winch still while you advanced the prusik. I mean, cool. But whats wrong with keeping it simple? For real a simple taut line hitch woulda done the job. No? I think what makes somebody interested in knots in the first place is also what makes them want to make knots out of everything in life.

Ngl as a complete beginner who has been struggling for the past 2 weeks to find a video or knot system that served my exact purpose, this video just saved my project. Ive looked into taut line hitch and a few other ones like truckers hitch and for some reason i cant understand how to impliment it in the way i need to. Idk i guess it might be for a different purpose or our brains might just be different but definitely a useful vid for me
