Ozone Imager 2 is a FANTASTIC plug-in for stereo separation and widening the stereo image. You can also use WIDER by Infected Mushroom, which takes your stereo image and expands it based on a stage setup, using multiple speakers arranged across the stage for a full stereo sound. Hope that helps!

guys, can someone explain to me, what mastering is? when we're finished the track, we already add some eq's and effects to our synths and etc, but what mastering does? we just make our track sound brighter, wider and punchier by editing finished track the way like in this video? that's what mastering is? do I understand it right? Sashik Pro mastering is mixing the master track.

Sashik Pro Mastering is to finalize a finished mix by reducing any problematic frequencies and maybe even adding additional EQ if needed. Compression during mastering is to glue the loudest parts of the mix to the rest of the song if needed. In today's world mastering engineers will also use maximizing plugins ( a limiter) to increase the overall loudness, this should be done carefully or you can ruin a whole song Also included in mastering is to add metadata to the song e.g. Filename etc and prepare if for whichever player it will be played on eg: CD format, KZbin uploading etc. There's way more to it, and that's the problem with these ' tutorials ' is they only cover a small amount of what's required for proper mastering. I've grown fond of your intro track over the years Question. If you stereo image during mixing why do it on the master bus? Wouldn't it mess up the previous stereo mixing ?

The first few times I mastered my songs this way, it was perfectly fine. But I noticed that when I add the Patcher and add the plugins inside, my song goes full mono and it sounds terrible. No change even if I play around with the knobs. What could have gone wrong?

go back to the stereo shaper after adding and linking the eq and change it to 1. Then, they'll send the signal through both.

So when you stereoize your hats for example in the beat and the panning goes from the left to the right and back und you use the Patcher as the Mid Side Eq then your Hats aren´t stereoized anymore...

Why do you use Fruity Compressor when Maximus already has a master compressor in it? I don't understand. Also you have a Limiter there too which can do the same thing. I am a newb so I am just curious about the thought process behind this. It seems like a lot of the plugins have the same capability when it comes to compression and most of them outdo Fruity Compressor.

Hi, i'm fairly knew to music production. In the two songs i've tried this master chain on, there is an intro and then a drop. When i render it, the intro sounds ok but the drop sounds very quiet. My intros consists of minimal layers (around three) but i have a lot of layers for my drop (around thirty to fifty). Does anyone know what's wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated! :) EDIT: nvm, my original mix was to loud so, i lowered the drums, lowered the master track then, rendered it to .wav (32-bit float). From there i started a new project, imported my .wav, then did the stuff in this video.
