Kandarin does have a nice con QoL element which is access to butlers. You only get these with Kandarin

Ardy diary giving extra gold pouches would be before the 3x miltiplier im assuming, making it so the limit for puches is 420 with trickster at elite diary which means you can thieve for ~11 mins afk with the auto thieving

So I've decided to focus on a mage run with Kandarin as my first breakout pick for Waterfall Quest and those types of crazy quest reward boosts + zenyte util + midgame mage setups, whether that be Iban's, that new slayer staff, and/or trident if I find my slayer lvl to be up to that point before my next area. Then Desert for infinity set until Virtus for Ancients focus + obvious shadow to perfect it all. Still unsure on the last area pick as I don't want to add a second raid. I'm leaning towards Asgarnia to steamroll GWD with everything up to this point.

for me, magic is the nobrainer pick this leagues because we only get 3 region choices i was gonna go range originally, but realized i would have to pick all 3 regions for what I *need* for my range setup, and have nothing left for what I *want* to elaborate: going range and not getting the rigour prayer from CoX is a big waste. Then you also need to go either asgarnia/desert/prif just for the armor, and finally, BiS neck is in kandarin. All 3 region choices will be tied to gear, or youd have an incomplete range setup mage on the other hand, the final mage prayer, augury, only adds some accuracy, which would virtually change nothing with a 175% accuracy relic. Totally skippable. And furthermore, just 2 regions , kandarin and desert for example, will cover all weapon needs, jewelry, and some armor as well. Last choice can be for armor, or for fun, or both. Going K-W-D personally

Although I did want to choose kourend after reading this I like the idea of skipping it if going mage since we do get huge accuracy bonus from relic, thinking k/d/a. This will give my bis range weapon and decently melee weapon with bis melee gear and range gear

Every single style requires more than 3 regions for max, that is literally the point. Everyone needs Fremmy and Desert for max but F isn't really good for any style. Ironically, mage requires the most regions for max (D, Z, K, W, F). Ancestral is notably better than Virtus unless you're using ancients. Range needs A Z D for likely the highest DPS in the game on anything where dragon ruby bolts are good (every raid and notable boss). K and F are completely optional here and you could do D A into anything really. Webweaver is probably BiS spec other than zaryte. Melee can easily just have A D F and have everything but have to settle for Bellator instead of Ultor. Or just A M F and have max on large enemies other than Ultor.

I’m definitely doing Kandarin for my mage route but I’m not looking forward to BA, Chompys, ape toll agility and ardy roof top tasks

Yeah, unfortunately, for how good it is for mage, the tasks from TBL 1 were pretty rough. I believe in you to power through though

dont you get ibans early on, with kandarin too? no req. other than 50 magic, and will be able to hit like 30s in early game

Unfortunately not. Underground Pass isn't auto-completed by Kandarin. So you have to ALSO take Tirannwn or Fremmy to have access to ibans since the pass itself is in Tirannwn for the quest.

I am going magic, But I'm skipping out on Kandarin! I'm going Desert, Zeah, Fremmy. My main goal is to max, but I also want to do content I enjoy. Every DT2 boss, DKS, Muspah, ToA and CoX, ect.. I also want to break every boss i can get my hands on by completely brute forcing Magic. Yeah, I'm gonna miss out on some damage (bis with shadow without kandarin is like ~55, but I'm going to be incredibly accurate with shadow to the point that magic level and defense won't mean anything. at the end of the day, I'm still gonna destroy everything just like a few seconds slower lol

PLEASE get Ancient Sceptre with Shadow Gem inserted and tell me about it! Ancient Shadow Sceptre causes shadow spells to reduce target's strength and def in addition to the usual attack stat. So I feel like it will melt everything regardless of magic defense. I really considered picking Frem for the upgraded Ancient Staff but I think I'm going the meta of Des Kand Asg. I just don't like Frem region much

I might do the same but trying to figure out a nice setup with these regions for melee dt2 instances, akkha finap phase and when the wardens only get hit with melee, you wouldn't have bandos or torso, relying heavily on obsidian ig Is duke doable with magic?

For the demonic gorillas, I know they pray against you, but is it possible to semi-afk camp a shadow staff against them?

So, when they pray against you, they become 100% immune to the damage of that style. And since shadow will be 2Ticks (1.2 seconds per attack) they will change to magic immune every 3.6 seconds. So not really :(

ZMI isn't that amazing. It will probably be pretty comparable to most high level altars, and Daeyalt essence wasn't worth the time investment last leagues even with gathering relics. Also warped creatures do have a slayer requirment, but its probably already met by doing museum and the quest lol.

@@estusf1ask ZMI is irrelevant then. It's just slightly more exp per essence then other Altars. It's good in the main game because the bank is close and you have the TP.

Kandarin is boring content you can do on the main game and 15% is not going to change how you play. Pick regioins you find fun, do not pick Kandarin due to a dmg boost. this is a BAD IDEA

Obligatory Kandarin hate thread (unless things change drastically, K is pretty terrible early and should only be picked 2nd/3rd once you have highish slayer for mages): Literally no fun content imo. I like ZMI but its irrelevant in leagues. All the 'bosses' are afk. Horrible content like monkey agility, chompy, and fishing trawler. No BiS training methods or even methods that offer multiple skills/tasks (like pyramid plunder, aerial fishing, tempoross, WT, MTA, PC). Only BIS is Zenytes/Occult. 7% str and 5% att on a prayer is not worth choosing a region for. It offers nothing for range except anguish is good ofc. For melee, void+defenders+baxe are way better than a dcim. For magic, the new staff+mystics is way overshadowed by infinity+tome+wand+ancients+free/required training to like lv 70 in MTA. Of course, prioritize fun and content you want to try out, but Kandarin has basically none of that and isn't required for any other raids/bosses. tl;dr: K is terrible early, mid, and late. Has no notable training methods. And should only be picked later for mage once you have slayer/crafting up. It could also have a bunch of easy tasks to speedrun relics/regions, but this is pretty irrelevant unless you 're a streamer.

I did Kandarin on one of my account last TBL, and I will NEVER do the monkey agility laps again.
