I didn’t know the fire brigade had motorcycle courses, that’s an awesome way to try and reduce accidents and incidents. Those were some really awesome exercises, glad to see everyone enjoying a bit of learning as well ☺️ Great day out mate, awesome that this service is offered out to riders 🤘

Yes, it's very neat. I think some other fire services may offer them also. Very rewarding day out for sure 😁

"Even if you never plan to drop your bike"... because you always plan that sort of stuff :D... Good program and experience... I wish there were something similar in PT... at least with Spitfires.

There are two types of biker: those who have dropped their bikes and those who will 😉 Yes, it's very good to be able to attend these types of sessions

Very well made video. I'm rubbish at using my rear brake. I only use it to come to a nice stop when I'm already riding slow.

It's very good for fine control. I'm usually slipping it when filtering or manouvering slowly such as in car parks. Not so much on bends...

Good vid Noo, great thing to go to, ever rider should do this stuff, and practice those skills. I really liked the script and voice work you did, it turned out great.

Looks like a fascinating day. Did you say you have been riding six years! Wow you have made serious progress in that time. Interesting that they were teaching rear brake technique, that has been my default setting for years, but then I have also ridden MTB's offroad for a long time, a handful of front brake on loose / gravel / muddy surfaces can easily lead to a face plant, too much rear brake just ends up as a slide.

Yeah I passed my DAS in 2017, joined the IAM in 2018. I see too many people parking on the front brake, a recipe for a drop 😞 I did some off roading today, used a load of rear brake, but also a tiny bit of front, just to load it 👍

I don't know how one get a bike driving license in the UK but what I've seen in this video is typically what we have to succeed to get the license in France. And it's not that easy, the majority doesn't get the license at the first try...
@NooBiker
@NooBiker 6 ай бұрын
Yes we have to do some of these exercises to pass the test, but only a U-turn and a slow slalom and a swerve, at much slower speeds. And then most riders never practice these again!!!
@vzmax
@vzmax 6 ай бұрын
@@NooBiker During the test, we have to do 7 U-turns, slalom, emergency braking, U-turn with a passenger, high speed avoidance, etc... all in once. We spend a lot of sweat !

@@vzmax people over here in the UK already complain the test is too hard 🙄😅 Do you have to bring your own passenger or does the test center provide a volunteer?
@vzmax
@vzmax 6 ай бұрын
@@NooBiker We complain it’s too hard ! You can check out the video (copy & paste) « NOUVEAU PERMIS MOTO A2 et A1 2020 - Le parcours d'examen plateau » by Moto Magazine, subtitles in English are perfect. (if I provide the complete link like I did yesterday evening, the post is automatically deleted) As for the passenger, it’s usually the instructor or whoever else. If a skinny girl is around, it’s perfect ! 😊 Looking at the video it seems so easy but when you are a beginner, you have never been on a motorcycle before, it is tough. I’ve seen many students give up. Getting the driving license takes months, often 5 or 6. Especially since it takes time to get an exam place and you generally don't succeed at the first time. If the wheel touches the white stripe or a cone on the ground, you have failed. If you are at 48 km/h while 50 km/h is mandatory, you fail. I once went with my fellow « students » at the official test center to see and encourage them, only one among four succeeded. And it already was his second test… A few days later, it was my turn. We were six, only two passed, one for whom it was the third test and one for whom it was the first time. Me ! At nearly 60. I still can’t believe it. Of course, afterwards you also need to take driving lessons on the road but this is a piece of cake. Not to mention that before getting on a motorcycle you have to pass a theoretical exam. But I assume it’s also the case in any country.
