So my face detection settings won't allow me to turn it on it says it is because the file format XAVC 4K so can you not have AF on if you are using the video in 4k?

@@JasonVong Yes! I enjoy using it. Before using the 6400, I used Canon M50. Of course the M50 is much more easier to use. The low light performance of a6400 is much better. And the range of lenses also makes me happier. But of course, it spends me much more time to learn the Sony menu. (Oh! My God!) Anyway, thanks Jason from Hong Kong.

4:30 is a great tip. like your videos alot. for me withA9 I use touch tracking and go behind the tree then back out and if i do it fast enough it doesn't lose focus. but this is a great idea

I’ve noticed on mine the background is sometimes pulsing. But subject is in focus, on video. The pulsing is detracting. I think it was set on too sensitive?

Perhaps I can get some help from one of you here! Can someone please explain the issue where there is banding/black lines while recording video on the A7III? Some people are saying this has to do with the A7iii's shutter, or sometimes LED lights, but I really want to know if this is an issue with all DSLR cameras, or if this is just a Sony specific thing. If it's Sony-only, how big of an issue is this really? It's the one thing preventing me from buying an A7iii, so I'd love some info.

Cameron Bryce it’s rolling shutter. It happens more in 4K footage and I think Sony’s are known for it but you can definitely work around it. Lots of great shooters use Sony!

I love to your video tuturials and informative information. I am a Realtor and have a Sony a7r4 with Ziess 18mm 2.8. I shoot model homes while walking thru. Auto mode works most of the time but in auto mode I cant select center focusing which id what I want since focusing gets crazy when images are near. Is there anyway to make the focus center focus in auto mode. thanks James

Hi Jason, awesome video as always. Quick question: Which auto focus mode in video do i have to use to lock an individual subject in a crowd? and this subject keep moving in the frame. For example, you need to focus on one dancer in a group dance. as this main dancer keep moving left and right (but still in the frame). I tried every focus mode, but sometime the focus jumps into the back dancer's face.

You are correct! But it doesn't work as well. The a6400 and the a9 has the newer and better AF for touch tracking!

Jason, I believe A7III has the tracking function too. Set Center Lock-on AF in Fn button. Start recording and turn it on and tap the screen on the subject you want to track. :) Hope it helps the rest of the A7III users out there.
