Occasionally, I’ve been extremely lucky in my 75 years to walk into some really good information. I bought this same spray gun after determining that LVLP would better suit me than HVLP. It wasn’t the cheapest but it was relatively inexpensive given the grand scheme. A week or so ago I Googled a question and this site offered an answer. Based on that answer I subscribed and caught this video today. Holy smokes! I’m not expecting a whole lot out of my abilities but I’m much further ahead than if I hadn’t attended KZbin University. I am really enjoying this gun! Like a premium R500. Lvlp guns are the only compressor guns i'm keeping. It's the most sensible approach in a garage. No sense pretending you can use a fog machine like the boys with the fancy paint booths. Not living in that world. If I had a true paintbooth, would probably have a different point of view.
@GarageNoise7 ай бұрын
You got that exactly Right painted with a high dollar gun today won't say which one, but it's a fantastic gun, but a cloud of overspray and it devoured a pint of paint literally almost twice the amount of paint I would use with the lvlp. I can't justify using any other gun.

Is more about cfm you need about 10 cfm at 30 psi wihich is typically a 30 gallon compressor. 4.5 cfm at 90 psi is equivalent to 10at 30. Unless you use a touch up gun which will use less cfm

Clean it real well isopropyl alcohol and prep sol. Then I would buff it with an pretty aggressive compound. Then clea it again and sand with 600. Then you should be good to seal and paint or just paint and clear. Ceramic coating can be tough to remove.

Hi, so If I could just pick your brains for a second. I have built my own farm from the land up and now I've converted a van into a campervan and did everything to a high standard. I have purchased two of these guns one for primer and one for clear and base coat the same kit you showed in the opening of your video. The guy around the corner is going to spray my camper to the same factory colour. I have purchased all the paint and even the disposable cup system. I have prepped the whole van to a high standard. But he is adamant that I will have to wet and dry the whoil;e van and the videos I have watched from you and Paint Society. It's not like you are dealing with orange peel all the time, yes maybe here and there and the odd dust spots etc. But this guy is like this is what the whole van will be orange peel and that's that..? I will be doing in my neighbour new barn which I intend to make a clean space with clear polythene sheet walls so that lots of light can get into the van. It is hot in the UK at the moment not like the US as I have travelled across the west coast and it was crazy hot. But can I just ask is orange peel across the whole van inevitable...?

@@GarageNoise I think so to, I have seen jobs he has done but only wings etc on repaired salvage which my van is also salvage repaired. But I want the paint to be mint otherwise I wouldn't have purchased all the gear which will come in handy down the road as I have other projects lined up and can make a pretty penny off preparing salvage in the UK as insurance right them off for minimal damage like bolt on panel damage etc, that's all mine was and was fixed in a morning. I have just gone around the whole van and repaired all the scratches and little dings, wet n dry sanded the whole van which took an age lol arms like a 17 year old after that job and don't see why I should need to do the whole van again after paint. Yes if it was the odd bit no problem but the whole van..? I have the bonnet set up in my garage now and put up a clear polyethene wall to keep the area clean. So I am going to have a go myself and see how it goes. I have watched so many videos on the subject from you in your own place to paint society in a proper booth. I know I may make a mistake. But I don't think can be as bad as he is saying. Hopefully yeh got to start somewhere.
