This is really good. What if glasses have more then 3D of prism? My office has a very old lensometer and am struggling. Can't find any education on this anywhere

I came across an older TOKYO KOGAKU lensmeter/verometer. This does not have lines but rather series of dots in a circle. I've got the sphere part right. How do i read the cylinder?

nice newbie guide on spotting prism. All of this info will be useless in 5 years with everything going automated though.

Auto lensmeters have been out for many years now and people thought the manual lensmeters would've been replaced long ago; but there are still many situations where the manual is preferred. You're probably right in that they will probably be replaced, but I think that's still a while out yet. :)
