Hey- great video man! This video really helps us parent coaches to learn about the mechanics of pitching. Great job! Keep it up. Wish you guys had a spot in Long Island ny.

Really good video. What’s your thoughts on many elite throwers that keep back foot down through release, thus having both feet down at same time.

I’m not sure his take on this, but I’ve always thought it was best try and keep that back foot down. Because, if it comes up prior to release, you are losing some of the energy you just created from the ground via your “triple-extension”. It also is likely an indicator that something else if off in your mechanics. For example, I was getting off balance in my mechanics due to striding on a slight diagonal rather than straight to my target. This, in turn, caused me to get off balance at release point. I fixed this issue by bringing my shoulders more upright at release and I went from sitting 83-84 to 88-89 in just a few throws. Keep and mine I’m only 5’10 so to see jumps like this are very rare at my size.

I've been lurking...should a pitcher be pronating or suppinating when throwing a slider?
