Mastering Trane Chillers: Techview Software Install

This is a tutorial on how to download the Trane Techview software for servicing Trane Chillers with a CH530 controller on it. We didn't have this kind of information when we were coming up in the field, and it took many hours of reading through manuals, and making mistakes to find the correct way to do it.
This software is required when changing any networked component on a Trane machine, or downloading software on a brand new controller.
Some tasks that requires this software is:
1. Uploading new software onto an existing chiller controller.
2. Uploading software onto a brand new chiller controller.
3. Binding pressure transducers.
4. Binding temperature sensors.
5. Diagnosing a communication issue in the network.
6. Binding electronic expansions valves (EEV's).
7. Binding network controllers.

Looks like Trane updated the version and changed their website, it was directly below the techview download. Will you be working on a machine sometime soon? Looks like they may have separated it out. I wonder if you have to ask them for each software version now, or if it’s auto downloaded. I only saw the RTWD software online. Give the software a try on a new controller, if it doesn’t have the software let me know, and I can do a video on the previous version, and how to to get it if needed. Let me know man

Hey man, you can get the tracer TU from. www.trane.com/commercial/north-america/us/en/products-systems/building-management---automation/trane-controls-software-downloads.html You need to find a Trane supply that will sell you a license key. Call Trane supply in st Paul MN, and tell them you want a license key. It will run you about $1,700ish a year

My company has a tracer TU on their laptop, can i copy the apps and trasnfer to the other laptop to avoid buying another license key?

No, you will need a separate license key from Trane. for the TU unfortunately..

A guy said he was able to get it from Trane in MN for 7k for everything..

Sorry for the late reply, are you talking about the licence key section in the Trane Techview software? You aren't required to have a license for this, and that section can stay blank. You can't do anything in this software until you are connected to a ch530 controller unfortunately. Maybe thats the problem your having? I wish Trane would let you play with it, but you cant do anything until your connected. Have you tried connecting to the CH530 controller and navigating the software then? let me know, so I can help you with this, and update my video if guys are having issues with something. @@TheChillerGuys However, I have another program called TU from Trane company that works on UC800. Is there a way to run this program, or can you provide a video tutorial? Thank you.

Unfortunately the TU software does require a license... If your lucky, and your working on a newer machine, Trane added an option to bind components option right from the UC800 interface. If your not lucky, then you will need to reach out to a Trane sales office and see if they will sell you a license. A lot of Trane offices hold the software pretty tight, and even if they do have it listed for sale, they may not sell it too you. You may have to call a few offices to find one that will. It is about $5,000, so make sure its economical for you to purchase it before going through all of the legwork. To find your local sales office, google "Trane sales office locator" and click on the "Locate Sales Office" link on google. Otherwise, a Trane technician can come out, but your at the mercy of their schedule, and I have had a lot of Trane guys try and take accounts from me, so be careful and make sure you get the right technician.@@khaledkamal1025
