The hardest thing for me is to get that first stroke down on the paper. To get past that, I warm up by using pre-drawn zentangles from an adult coloring book using colored pencils.

Wow, just wow. This is only the second of your videos I've watched but I'm enamored by your style. I'm a perfectionist, and have ventured into watercolor to try and rid myself of that in my art. I love the idea of starting a vignette wet onto a dry spritzed paper, it's both precise and chaotic. Just the technique I've been looking for and didn't know it. Yes, I prefer cold pressed paper for my style of painting and I have a few favourite brands The paper in this video is by Baohong and is 140lb/300gsm cold press rough, 100% cotton.
