Bethesda needs to get off their high chair and outsource their IP, whatever mainline entries they create, third parties could create their 'New Vegas' style Elder Scrolls game, I'd love you see Black Marsh and Elswyr but they won't get their own numbered entries It's very clear from the sheer size of Hammerfell to the political landscape and biomes that it will be the next game in the series, but we could have had the entire continent covered by now or even an Akavir spinoff if Bethesda would just be willing to outsource it
@joshualap40125 күн бұрын
I agree it's pretty dumb that they don't. Altough Todd has been asked about it but he seems to have some level of pride about the games and because of that doesn't want to. Likely also the fact that everyone likes New Vegas more than any of the Fallout games that Bethesda made probably made Todd a little salty. But at this rate the games are just coming out way to slow. If they want to keep interest on thier franchises players should get somthing new from an IP every now and then and not wait more than a decade. A spin off game every now and then between those long wait times for main line games could keep player invested in the IP. But well Bethesda isn't exactley smart these days anyway. These guys seriously drove back the Aldmeri Dominion BY THEMSELVES and forced them to renegotiate their treaty, simultaneously showing the middle finger to both the Dominion and the Empire. I also believe if the Stormcloaks canonically won the Skyrim civil war then Ulfric would be smart to try making an alliance with Hammerfell, and would definitely make the storyline more interesting IF ES6 is based there.

Sure Redguards are really cool and did indeed win, there are a few reasons why. 1. ALOT of imperial “ deserters “ stayed behind to help Redguards. 2. I would just like to point out that Skyrim's map size was scaled down to the technology of the time it was developed in. Skyrim is supposed to be a continent with millions of people living in it. In the game its the size of a small county with a mere handful of barley populated villages in it. With today's technology I expect something a little more immersive, a little bit bigger. Though I pray to the gods they don't try to solve that problem the same way they did in Starfield.

Another thought about why it should definitely be Hammerfell: Swordsinging, the revival of this ancient redguard art could be a possibility for a new special power mechanic in TES 6 similar to what dragon shouting was in Skyrim. As from a game design standpoint adding a completely new feature like dragonshouts in one game and then not keep or replace it with something new in the next game but completely removing it without replacement would be kind of weird.

Hammerfell is a really logical place to be a key battleground when the Thalmor start the second war. 3. Its location would mean they could obvious have part of High Rock as one of the main DLCs. 4. We haven't seen a desert climate in the mainline modern Elder Scrolls, while the north is more traditional biome. 5. I very much think the canon end to the Civil War will be the Dragon Born made the trice and then the Redguards and Dunmer came to the aid of the Stormcloaks so they could jointly forge a new Ebonheart Pact. It also just fits so well that in the Peace Talks Ulfric gives up the city that would be most easy for the Dunmer to attack and gains the city that would let the Redguards flank an Imperial Siege of Markarth trapping them in the valley leading to the city.

Great video, but here's my personal argument against Hammerfell. You had many great points but they all rely on them continuing the story and world events of Skyrim. Every previous Elder Scrolls game has almost nothing to do with anything the game that came before it set up. Arena: Emperor is kidnapped and needs to be rescued -> Daggerfall: The Iliac Bay region is threatened by a ghost king and an ancient Mech has shown up and might change the coarse of history-> Morrowind: A resurrected hero needs to stop 3 gods and a false god who wants to spread a plague across the world -> Oblivion: Daedric forces have begun invading the world and are destroying and killing every race/civilization on Tamriel -> Skyrim: Dragons have returned to destroy/reset the world -> Elder Scrolls 6 ? Every game is it's own story with little to no major plot points from the previous games effecting its own story. From Oblivion to Skyrim was a 200 year time skip. For all we know Elder Scrolls 6 could take place at the end of the 4th era and the Thalmor and Empire are things of the past. I still loved the video, but I see so many people make plot based off of what Skyrim set up making the meme of it being "Skyrim 2" seem more real. The plots should always be stand alone and unpredictable. If you beat Oblivion and said "Ok, the Daedra have destroyed so much of Tamriel and killed the emperor and now the empire has no ruler. So obviously the Plot of Elder Scroills 5 will take place 200 years later in Skyrim and Dragons have returned" then you are really good a guessing.
@amazinghorizon82705 ай бұрын
There still is a lot of continuity between games: In Arena you reinstate the emperor and stop the empire from turning into chaos. In Daggerfall that very Emperor sends you on a special mission, there you uncover the Numidium and decide who will use it. In Morrowind you uncover the power of the Numidium with the Heart of Lorkhan, you kill the rulers of Morrowind and in Oblivion the ruler of the Empire gets killed. In Oblivion at the end the Dragon returns in Martin Septim and in Skyrim the Dragons return.

I know some people want the game to be in both Hammerfell and High Rock, but I'd rather see it just in one or the other. I'd rather see a game that's well crafted and potentially smaller than other games than something like Starfield which has vast amounts of nothing.
@BP-dn9nv4 ай бұрын
I also don't think the lore size of the province matters that much. Daggerfall has the smallest map lore wise but the largest map game wise. Games like GTA 5 and Cyberpunk 2077 have maps that rival Skyrim despite being set in just one city and the surrounding county. It all depends on how they scale it.

imo Hammerfell makes sense, but given the scale of games these days, the sheer size and scope of Starfield and what modern hardware can push out, Hammerfell and Highrock could be in one game or the entirety of the Aldmeri Dominion

4:47 The date of the map is unlikely to be related to the date of TES 6, the map is just the generic paper copy that came with every copy of Skyrim on the 360, they all hsve that date on them.

It’s been 13 years since the last mainline ES game. Surely with this amount of time, the game shouldn’t suffer from any significant amount of quality issues. I hope so, at least that would make the wait worth it! I really can’t wait for it anymore lol

They might as well just do it in the iliac bay like daggerfall. It would be weird for it to be set in hammerfell when a major part of their culture is sailing and piracy and just not be able to sail around anywhere. Plus hammerfell and high rock are so culturally intertwined it would be jarring to leave one out. Maybe even have an orsinium dlc later on, that would be badass.

If it is Hammerfell (which I agree it is), I hope the game begins with Saadia being transported back to Hammerfell. The player then chooses one of 4+ characters in the cart being transported: a redguard female (then customized), redguard male (then customized), any race/gender, or Saadia herself, with each character being fully voiced. Or allow us to pick other characters. Maybe we are one of the guards transporting her. Do we try to prevent her escape or aid it? Do we play as someone who raids the transport convoy to break Saadia free, so we play as her friend/ally/family member/etc. Through dialogue with or as Shaadia, we find out if she was lying or telling the truth in Skyrim. We then either play through the story as her, or go our own way, either supporting or opposing her, or go our own way entirely. If we play as her, we open up related quests/storylines, like maybe we already have a home, allies, are in a guild, etc. If we choose to side with or against her, we may have a foot in the door to join certain faction(s) based on if Shaadia was lying or telling the truth. Or we play completely independent of her, just choosing an option like I don't know/care who you are, I'm only out for myself, and we are free to do whatever we want for the rest of the game. So from the very start of the game we can set up like one of ~15 storylines. - a prisoner who helps/opposes Saadia or takes no interest in her - a guard who helps/opposed Saadia - a raiding party who helps/opposes Saadia And dialogue choices determine if Saadia was lying or telling the truth. All the quests change based on that. Like if we choose to help her and she was telling the truth leads us to different quests/factions than if we chose to help/oppose her and she was lying. Maybe one path puts us on a course to joining the thieves guild, or mages guild, or whatever. Maybe one path gives us a lowly spot in a faction or an honored place in a guild or with another character. Whatever choice we make, there are like ~40 possible different starts for the game. If anyone thinks this is too big or bold, we've waited +10 years for this. Bethesda needs to up its roleplaying and give us more than two options, e.g. Stormcloaks or Imperials, to do or reject quests. Let players choices have significant impacts on the game. Let us decide more how to shape the world events, not just choose A or B. Let us choose A-H.

While I can certainly see why Hammerfell makes sense, and I'll be happy either way, I have this desire for it to be set in Elsweyr, or Valenwood, mostly Elsweyr, don't know why. Probably not happening, but I just really wanna go there. But if Hammerfell is the location, I'm fine with that too, cuz I love all the provines of Tamriel, so it doesn't matter where we go.

I think it’ll be Hammerfell for the sole reason that the Dwemer had a much smaller presence in southern Tamriel and because of how popular the Dwemer are in the fan base, they would want to try and maximize their profit, and people enjoy the Dwemer and their mysteries

Hammerfel is really the best now, as it has all diverse ,,stuff". From land, to people, to politics. There are two factions which will serve well for the story -Crowns and forebears / (Empire-Stormcloack). On the wiki it also says there was Dwemer, Ayelid and what not there in the desert.

They could set the game in the Aldmeri Dominion, combining Elsweyr, Valenwood, and Summerset Isles together. It could be fun to have your race actually matter beyond a few minor dialogue options and automatic access to locations that don't really matter. That being said, I'm pretty sure it's going to be set in Hammerfell. The political plot will be about Hammerfell rejoining the Empire and fighting off the Aldmeri Dominion. The existential plot will be tied to evil dudes (possibly from the Dominion) trying to destroy the Adamantine Tower and bringing about the end of Nirn. The cool mechanic will be that your hero is a sword singer, maybe a rebirth of Gaiden Shinji, or possibly an incarnation of Ebonarm.

Honestly I feel like the most damming point against anywhere in southern Tamriel is that all those areas are a bit too alien. Oblivion & Skyrim are both very "normal human" games and that's what the casual audience expects. I don't think a game like Morrowind would be made as part of the main series anymore

Super excited for Elder Scrolls 6! Here’s what I’d love to see: 1. **A Truly Dynamic World** - A living, breathing world that reacts to your choices. Cities, factions, and landscapes that change based on your actions. 2. **Expanded Combat** - More fluid and tactical combat with a deeper skill system. Magic and melee should feel equally impactful. 3. **Better NPCs & AI** - NPCs that feel more alive with realistic routines, personal stories, and real consequences to your interactions. 4. **Deeper Crafting & Customization** - More ways to personalize gear, houses, and even NPC relationships. Let us truly make our mark on the world. 5. **Bigger, More Diverse World** - Multiple regions with distinct cultures, biomes, and climates to explore. Let us journey from the deserts to the snow-capped mountains! 6. **Enhanced Modding Support** - The modding community is a huge part of Elder Scrolls, so easy-to-use modding tools would be a game-changer. 7. **Improved Exploration** - Seamless exploration with less loading screens, more hidden places to discover, and a greater focus on player-driven stories. What do you guys want to see in Elder Scrolls 6? The possibilities are endless!

8 New system called loyalty Which is you have various faction like in Starfield have but different Imperial Expedition army Native Reguard noble house family and ects If you are friend to the one of noble house family their governing city will give you discount or let go of tiny crime (such as Stealing) or give you best warrior as mercenary If you are friend to imperial expeditionary army they’ll help on every occasion (Such as you banged the hostile noble houses that friendly noble houses don’t do!) 9 Provoking NPC system from oblivion back We know how it works touching considered stealing 😂

I'd imagine ES:Black Marsh is like exploring the amazon with magic. Black Marsh would be PERFECT because you can set up outposts very effectively and have it be a very meaningfully mechanic incorporated into the game, being that the natural environment is very harsh and hostile. Learning the conquer blackmarsh would help every other province thrive🎉 😮

Hammerfell is really cool, but I wish they do something really out there like Morrowwind. Maybe take us to Elsweyr or Black Marsh. Something that’s not really based on any human society. That was what was so cool about Morrowind, it was a totally alien experience.

black marsh would only be a good setting for a game if there was lore explaining the disappearance of flesh flies and possibly quests dealing with them reappearing and having to get rid of the species again

@stephenparsons5425 ай бұрын
The decision to go to Hammerfell in Elder Scrolls 6 was made before Elder Scrolls 5 was published. The decision to NOT go to High Rock was also made at that time. The lore and the story they are telling are what determines where they go and that should be the first consideration here. The in-game book "The Great War'' details this lore update in depth. The overall plan of the Thalmor is to divide mankind and conquer. The White Gold Concordat demands set up attacks on the Nords through the banning of Talos worship and on the Redguard through loss of their southern cities. These attacks give us the basis for the story for both ES5 and ES6. In addition there are several in hints that have been placed in skyrim pointing to Hammerfell. The "In my time of need" quest line is the biggest. The quest that Neloth gives you for staffs from a Azra Nightwielder is next. We see the crater next to Azra's crossing in the trailer for ES6. Something I think most people miss is that in the tutorial in Skyrim the npc with dragonborn asks "What next, Giant Snakes?" after fighting the spiders. And just as a stretch, the thief at the beginning says he would be halfway to hammerfell if he had not been caught. The hints that we are not going to High Rock is first that it is barely mentioned in the lore book. Second, the only Breton you can ask about his homeland, the merchant in Whiterun, insults you and refuses to answer your question when you ask.
