Hey Damien, Thank you for your design series. I just finished the cushion stone. Next I will need to start placing the diamonds around. On the video you mention about diamonds that you created earlier. I tried to find relevant videos but I could not locate it. Can you please share some light which video shows how to design the diamond. Thank you

Love your videos. Do you have any videos that show how you go from a finished ring back to a unset model? For example do you create two versions, one finished and one for a ready to cast wax model with unfinished prongs…?

Thanks. No video about that yet, I'll make one, cheers

hey love your work can you make a video on how to stamp your logo into the ring shank? i cant get it to work without ruining the shanks meshing, many thanks
@RohrbachJewelryDesign2 жыл бұрын
Let's be honest, stamping is done using booleans, obviously that ruins the shank's topology, that ruins anything's topology 🥳

I always used Blender for game art and this got suggested to me today. How good is Blender for jewelry designs for 3D prints and actual Jewlery production?
@RohrbachJewelryDesign2 жыл бұрын
Well, my channel and videos are proof that Blender is obviously good for all of that. But you asking reminds us that it is not in the software, it's in the people... but then life is funny, because using better jewelry dedicated softwares like 3Design CAD is way more productive, but yet if you have the skills. So, yes it's in the software and it's also in the people. Also anyway if your jeweler is bad, or your stone setter is bad... life is funny

Why do you insist on using principled bdsf on the diamond material when it doesn't handle caustics or refractions?
@RohrbachJewelryDesign2 жыл бұрын
It's call speed, efficiency through simplicity. Also the only thing really missing natively in the BSDF is called dispersion... 😄😆💎💁🏻♂️ your comment comes out much funny 😁 especially taking into account the many videos I've made using LUXCORE or OCTANE to render fully physically correct diamonds 💎 I'd rather say you should no insist on disbelieving the BSDF, we all know the BSDF can do caustics using nodes 💎 And above all you should not insist on using technical terms wrongfully like refraction... You come out as much inaccurate, hence the fun 😁☺️ your comment is almost T-Shirt worthy... Saying that BSDF can't do refractions is like saying Michael Jordan can't dunk... 🎸💎
