Filmation figure looks great but the head sculpt is not aesthetically pleasing to me at all.

Filmation He-Man hair is too bright yellow, Prince Adam is like that but He-Man has a more orangey shade for hair.

I like the redesign of the CGI He-Man. That’s my favorite in the set. I’m not a fan of the head sculpt on the Filmation.

To my eye, the CGI one overall works best in terms of “blending” into the Origins form factor. But overall, I agree with your takes on the figs. They’re definitely +’d by the vac metal accessories, and the pieces that have that as well as other details, like the red shield deco, or green power sword hits, are very very cool. I’m not sold on Mattel’s head sculpts in general, but I think I’m in the minority since many don’t point it out. Now the price… I’ll just say that I didn’t get these and, while I’m a massive design nerd and am drawn to elaborate packaging all the time, I’m personally not feeling the design of that TV or the TV Guide conceit, and they don’t yet add up to the value gap for me. I’m more into the shipper box art on the backside…the timeline. That said, if this is gonna be treated as a key display piece in one’s collection, with all the packaging shown off and even the figs in package, I could see why many would feel like $150 makes sense. I see the argument that this 4-pack isn’t just about the toys themselves. Bottom line: Glad to be celebrating 40 years of MOTU in this one package, and to see an attempt to put all these aesthetics into a single, awesome form-factor. Great review as always. Your reviews are fantastic. Thank you for covering this set. I want it, but I'm not a box collector. I'm here for the figures. I wish this set was just the figures with their removable cards. I don't have the space and I cant justify spending at least half the cost of this on packaging because its a pretty presentation. Sad motu fan here 😥

I just got mine this afternoon and I love it. I never picked up the 200x he man or Skeletor and I’m so glad I waited. The box itself looks really great on display and I love the fact that you can take them out and put them back with ease. I was too old for the new adventures and hated it when it was announced but I actually do really like it. Hopefully everyone will be able to pick and choose which versions they want instead of feeling like they have to pay extra for this set but I’m very happy to know that I have it and the only way to get the vac metal weapons and card backs are by investing in the set.

It is like an ordinary sword in the cartoons but was made in the OG and Classics toyline in translucent plastic to make it look like an energy blade or lightsaber like sword.

@@danjones6702 that’d be a dream scenario. I got the twilight zone twisted genie wish outcome.. two CGi and no filmation. Imagine the reaction spending $150 just for the filmation, finding it’s not included in your order, and then being told on a 20 minute call to customer service it will take 4-5 weeks after they receive this order shipped back to them before that 4-5 week process starts for replacement or refund. I was polite and im not flipping out on anyone, but be damned if I’m not incredibly pissed about this.

The Horde 4-pack was the same price. I don’t understand the negativity around this set. I think we need to take into account the fact that in that prior set we had already gotten Hordak on a single card, the Troopers were simple repaints and Grizzlor would later be released as a single card release albeit in the way of an Exclusive but we got it nevertheless, not to mention with the He-Man 4-pack we are getting collector friendly carded figures, bios in the way of the included TV guide and a poster. So many KZbinrs I used to follow and had respect for are simply out for clicks with hate and grievances. I unsubscribed to three KZbinrs that I enjoyed watching. I simply can’t support the hate. Thank you ToyBro for giving an honest review.

Great review as always, Jared. I opted to pass on this one. I'm not a fan of the Filmation head. Someone said it looks like Jay Leno in a blonde wig. I can't UNsee that now. This set would've been more appealing to me if we had not already JUST gotten the retail version of 200X He-Man. They definitely should've waited on him. Not a fan of his sword being so short either. It's a decent set but just not that great to me.

The packaging, it being an exclusive so a small run and then die cast weapons...... I think its worth it personally. i think some just see its 4 of the same character and psychologically dont think its a value for the lack of variety. I mean we all paid double the price of a masterverse figure for the 2 pack... and it was premium packaging and die cast weapons... no real complaints... 150$ for the last 2 years of 4 packs... and its now that people are upset... so there has to be more to it like lack of variety imo
