The characters that's been in the yesteryears unbelievable, 1974 is when I started getting interested Ray Reardon, Alex Higgins, Eddie Charlton, John Spencer, Fred Davis, Cliff Thorburn, John Dunning. Then came the 80s then the 90s 00s it'll take some beating them 4 decades of top class characters and so much pleasure out of watching 22 balls being knocked around on a bed of slate and green felt, 6 rubber cushions ad a few planks of timber.. Fantastic

I reckon Kirk's 147 was the best televised maximum ever - the pressure shots he pulled off were fantastic.

My all-time favourite masters moment Jimmy match with Kirk Stevens In 1984 .Kirk's special 147 and Jimmy's brilliant incredible 100 in the next frame .

I wonder if a similar piece will be done in another 50 years covering from 2024 onwards and would it be as good a watch? I somehow doubt it

Why? 🤔 Snooker will always bring amazing entertainment. From 2002-2012 there were barely any tournaments and the game was on its knees, but it still produces magical moments

@@christopherpenny6083 I just think that for people who lived through the 80s onwards especially at the Conference Centre and with Ronnie not being around in 5/10 years time it will be very different. Look at the crowds tonight at the Grand Prix in Leicester, it's virtually empty.

@@user-fm2mv4zv7e but crowds are up 10-15% on average this year. Like Dave Hendon said on his podcast, people look at the 80s with rose tinted glasses. Day time, early round sessions at the Crucible were dead in the 80s, now, you can't get hold of a ticket. Myths are being passed down

Ken will never forget that missed black for the maxi. No matter what he says he still has nightmares about that one. I was so disappointed for him at the time. The masters is a great event to watch

I particularly loved the comment from Neil Robertson saying "Everybody apart from Jack Lisowski has won a major tournament," which knowing Jack's seemingly brittle self-esteem is going to hurt.

I think from all Ronnie lost in final he lost to Paul Hunter he respected most as he talked few words and really congratulations him.

Never understand why nobody mentions also about the 1979 Masters final when Perrie Mans won it cuz he was the first one to win at wembley.
