Bring this show back and get Jim and JV hosting again, that would upset a few 💀

At long, long last, Jimmy gets the result every Jimmy White fan wanted to see since his defeat to Hendry in 1994.

Brian was right about the Rams' performance having an end of season look about it. You couldn't blame Tommy Docherty for giving the squad a shake-up. The problem was his replacements weren't up to scratch.😮💨.

I haven't see too many Jimmy White matches. Was he normally so vacant? He looked miles away throughout the whole video.

I recall Willie and Alex had a bit of a run in the following year when they played in the 2nd round. Alex accused Willie of a deliberate miss!

That geezer brought jimmy white down to his level, which made it a poor match Never saw that other player before, so i assume how he played was normal for him.

Cliff Wilson had one good eye and heart trouble, he died 2 years after this. He was one of the best potters in the game when on song and beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 9-8 in the UK a month after this match after being 4-1 down with Ronnie showing him little respect. In his career he beat Jimmy White, Joe Johnson, Tony Knowles, Ken Doherty, Doug Mountjoy and Mike Hallett. He was in the top 16 in the 1988/89 season. So no, that geezer didn't play this way all the time!

At 18.24, simply Alex Higgins all over. No one else in this era would have played that shot. Not even Jimmy White. This is why Alex Higgins alone brought the game to the masses early doors and brought it to the television bosses attention. Even one of the greatest players ever Steve Davis has often said if it was not for Alex the game may never have even taken off.

1:01:14 would Jimmy have boffed this on purpose so Cliff wouldn’t get whitewashed? And at 1:02:15 with the next ball! Reminds me of Denny McLain grooving one to his boyhood hero, Mickey Mantle.

Question for anyone who can remember this era or earlier, they didn't used to have minutes silences for war remembrance before the game did they? It's a modern thing isn't it? That or it's edited out.

Alain is one of the nicest guys you could meet and doesn't really get the credit he deserves. Suppose a lot of it is down to the O’Sullivan fan boys getting on his case after he refused to shake Ronnie’s hand.
