Thanks for another great exploration! It’s great seeing problems derived from real world objects. Just reflecting on the bit at 5:40; as a matter of personal preference I would have removed the problem faces and used bridge edge loops here. I guess the whole point of these videos though is there are many ways to reach the same result and taking the harder path often leads to new insights. Anyway, that’s my dichotomy of geometry retopology philosophy for the day 😂

Really Great info! Thank you! I was quite literally just making a handle with a bevel like this and running into some issues that this helped solve. Kind of bizarre . Thanks! :D

Cool that you are spending the time to teach people some sub-d workflows, not as common today. one thing I noticed about the cut you made is its more of a cylinder remaining in the centre of the cut

I know Bevel+profile=1 is most common way to add support loops. But there is also another tool called offset edge slide which will always give you edge loops (equidistant) on either side of selected edge loop

i think i discussed it into a previous segment.

This variable radius bevelling technique actually also works with the bevel-modifier workflow: just set the width type to percent.

ah yes. I forget. But it fails in so many cases its almost a misnomer for me at this point. I was trying to make it work on circular cuts it but it required linearity for it to behave correct with the guidance it was being offered.
