To all the people that are wondering how this trick is done there is a powder inside each of the cups that makes it taste like the drink that he pours the carton is filled with water that’s why when may poured the water he didn’t cover the bottom half of the cup but he did with the rest of the 5

Andrew Christian Pangemanan I got invited to be on stage with Mat in Las Vegas a few months ago. He shattered my iPhone X and made it disappeared in front of my eyes and thousands. My wife and our siblings couldn’t believe their eyes either. Not only did he repaired my cracked screen but also had me reached inside a table after he cut it open in the back of the room where people were sitting to pull my phone out. He then guessed and wrote my wife’s name on a card AND wrote the last 4 numbers of my phone number. It was unbelievable.

So if you notice, he hides the bottom of each cup, except the one he pours the water into. Each of the other 5 cups has dissolvable powder to give the other 5 flavors, while the jug only has water in it. The trick is to make sure nobody can see the powder in the bottom of the other 5 cups.

There was powder in each of the glasses to resemble each drink color. The milk jug only had water in it. Watch the trick again. Notice the only entire glass he lets us see is the water glass. He conceals all the other cups with powder in them by blocking it with his hands as he picks up the cup. The beer cup has no foam when he pours it. But by the time it reaches Simon there is foam. The assistant switches out the tray for the actual drinks when the camera cuts away. Boom Magic!

Nice thinking! But that is false! The drinks were made by powder sprinkled within the glasses before hand. As you saw, he kept the bottom of the glasses covered by his hands the entire time. The milk box only held water to mix with the powder to give the illusion of the drinks. Now, none of them were drinkable. So his assistant secretly switched the drinks with the real deal so the judges could try them. Proof? The beer, when poured, had no fizz at the top. But when given to Simon, you saw a beer that had the good ol’ fizz. Crazy, right?

For those saying there was powder at the bottom of the cups, doesn’t make much sense. You can’t get powdered flavoured wine, beer, or orange juice. The lemonade is carbonated which means it can’t be just water and powder. The only 2 drinks that would work with powder and water is milk, you can get powdered milk, and obviously water. But even with the milk, you would have to stir it to actually make it work, same with any other drink there.

They didn't even drink the powder stuff. The powder stuff was only for color when the water was added. They drank real drinks that the assistant switched out for the powder fake stuff. Logan Chugg actually yeah there really is beer powder. My guess though is that at the bottom of each is already some powder with water mixed at the bottom but highly concentrated and when he adds the water it just mixes it perfectly.

Tony Rojas, I’ve looked into this and couldn’t find anyone who sold actual beer power as powdered alcohol beverages are not legalized here in the US. I did find one company who made a liquid that you could pour into a bottle of water that was run through a SodaStream system, but apparently, they went out of business. My educated guess is that there was already either a powder or a liquid in the bottom of the glass that gave it that piss color when he poured the water into it. Notice the level of the liquid in the glass after he finishes pouring it then compare that to what it looks like when Simon takes the drink, also notice that the beer didn’t have a head on it until right before it was given to Simon. That alone should prove that the drinks were switched. Also to note, if they weren’t switched why would his assistant have to come on stage to give Mat the drinks only for him to give them to the judges. He clearly could have just taken that piece of wood holding the drinks over to the judges himself. This adds someone to the equation that could swap the drinks.

A simple trick performed by an okay magician. I liked Franco's first few auditions. But then he started doing more big stage Magic. Those types of tricks only require great setup. They take performer almost completely out of the trick. Don't get me wrong. This can still be a cool trick, but there are better ways to perform it. Check out Paul Daniels' magic Kettle. I'm glad to see that Mat followed his dream and is becoming successful, but there are a lot more talented magicians out there.
