What's your biggest trouble when going for takedowns?
@jk-wm3py4 жыл бұрын
I'm like really skinny and usually taller than my opponent so they are heavier and I'm not always strong enough to just lift them up like in the video
@abreujiujitsu4 жыл бұрын
you don't have to fully lift them. a little weight training not only will help with strength gains but also make your body more durable.

Great instruction! From that back control position, can you go over that "roller skate slide" type takedown where you're extending your foot out and bringing down to the mat? (If that makes any sense)

Every time I shoot for a double I get guillotined, also can't chain wrestle much. My takedowns absolutely suck

This is my default when I am able to get behind someone and we are both standing. Within the rulesets of BJJ, is there anything I need to worry about in order to make sure that a mat return isn't considered a slam?
@abreujiujitsu Жыл бұрын
I apologize for the delay. As long as they don't land on their neck it should be fine. Usually suplexes are the throws that get called for slamming. Also any slam used to escape submissions.

Do you often end up behind your opponent? Like from your experience?
@abreujiujitsu4 жыл бұрын
yes, many grapplers turn to prevent the takedown. example, adcc doesn't score the takedown until you actually have your opponents back facing the ground.

Im making my mma bjj all about paths to the back as well as all my stand up, although i love a good highcrotch singleg, but as he showed plan b leads to the back 😊 they cant punch you from behind, and if you get behind them you can put them between you and their buddy in a real fight ❤
