I used the OG SEG42 for over a year and the bag held up really well. The deterrent in the front zips was an interesting add-on. What was cool to use as the transition along a trip. You start with all clean clothes in the front, and as the trip is going, you shifted the dirty clothes to the bag. As the space is kind of interchangeable, the bag is always looking the same, but easy and you have no smelly clothes mixed up.

really interesting about the transition - Matador should market that more, like they are selling more than just a bag, but a travel-system

@@Nomads.Nation That is for sure. They have been building their reputation quite solidly. I guess this bag will help them a lot. If you still have the bag around, do you happen to know the internal dimensions of the bucket part? This bag seems to carry more than most bags marked in the range of 28-30L, but being lightweight. Thanks!

Having watched a "crack ton of reviews", hearing Aaron start the video by saying "I'm not gonna lie, I've reviewed a crack ton of backpacks" gave me a good ol' laugh. Well, just wanted to thank you for all the effort you put into your reviews. Choosing my EDC was a difficult choice with all the great options out there. It's not everyday one gets to purchase a backpack, so getting it right from the first go is defo crucial. But with your assistance and straight-on reviews, I was able to narrow down my choices and eventually bought a backpack which I'm absolutely thrilled about. Keep doing what you're doing! Looking forward to see the FYRO live in action and know what others think about it. Cheers!

Saw this bag for the first time yesterday at REI. Poured over it and came away with: a bit pricey but understandably given the design. Disappointing laptop pouch but easily remedied with a decent sleeve (I already own), disappointing waist strap but I view this squarely as a travel, carry/airline carry bag mated to a roll on style that you check. This bag far exceeds personal item size. It’s overall quite impressive and from the $/250 you’re basically getting a full packing cube set integrated into the bag. It’s on the top of my list as I research. Edit: I will add for people that each pocket is rather overly sized on the inside. Like a trapezoid. So each pocket from the front can be over stuffed (not sure how the stats account for this). Each can go a long distance up or down. Then the main compartment can be used to push things around for shoes, etc.

I bought both the white and black version of this bag to compare them and the black version has the YKK aqua guard zippers while the white one does NOT. I can't find this listed on Matador's website which is surprising since it is essentially false advertising. They both cost the same price too. I also haven't seen a single reviewer mention this discrepancy, probably because they were never sent the white version, so I am leaving this comment on a few of the larger travel gear review KZbin channels. Otherwise, both the black and white version of the SEG28 are great quality.

Hi Aaron. Great stuff you’re doing with Fyro. Looking forward to the finished version. Great video as always. Although Matador says the SEG28 is 28L, the website listed dimensions suggest it’s actually 37L. This is a huge difference. From your experience of using the item, would you say it’s a definite 28L bag or more than that once packed out? Your opinion would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time and assistance. Keep up the brilliant work!😊 Cheers!

I purchased this bag after this review just in time for a 4th of July trip. Although the bag was awesome to use the laptop portion was a deal breaker for me as most of my trips are work related. Even with a 13 inch mbp I couldn't easily get my laptop out while the bag was packed out. Going to turn this into a gym bag because I still love the concept but sadly this will not accompany me on my next trip which is business related :(

i like the meat n potatoes of this backpack. I don't mind the loose laptop section - more space to carry a laptop cover. I don't like the hip belt - that would get uncomfortable. Also the bulge from the front compartments is awkward - not sure that would work for me.

this looks like a bag i would preferably get instead of ULA dragonfly. My pet peeve with ULA dragonfly after owning it for several months as my main travel bag, is that i wish there was more quick access pockets (before that i had standard school jansport bag for travel and realized later on i really like quick access pockets, i got no patience lol).
