Rammstein - OK (React/Review)

There is a LOT of lyrical meaning lost in translation here. Most of the lines allude to old-fashioned German office jargon and proverbs (the kind that provokes eye-rolls galore) and mix them together to a string of innuendos, disrupted by the unmistakable meaning of the chorus. For example "Ich werde mich dahinterklemmen" "(I'll get behind/lit. clamp myself behind [it]) is both alluding to working very hard (and focused) and the doggystyle position. Another example: "Viele Löcher sind zu stopfen" (many holes have to be filled) is a typical German saying, meaning lots of problems have to be solved/work has to be done. And my favorite line "Wird belohnt mit stetem Tropfen" (will be rewarded with steady/constant drops) is derived from "steter Tropfen höhlt den Stein"(steady drops will hole out the stone), which means that patient and hard work will eventually but not immediately lead to results, but (maybe) it's also a reference to uh one of the symptoms of gonorrhea, a consequence of not using a condom (or maybe it's just referring more generally to ejaculation, it's up to interpretation). They're not Till's best lyrics by any means and rather flat by Rammstein standards for sure, but not quite as flat as the English translation would make them seem.

Dankeschön für die Erklärung! I studied German at University, but I didn't know those proverbs since I am not a native speaker, so I thought Till just used poetic/old-fashioned vocabulary to avoid completely straightforward meaning. Glad it turned out to be another wordplay :) German language is awesome. Every time I discover something new in it. Vier Jahren hab ich diese Sprache studiert, trotzdem kann ich nicht sie vollständig beherrschen :)

One example why it's difficult to translate the lyrics or better to understand them as a non native speaker of the German language: He sings: Was sich liebt, das darf sich lecken. (Those who love, may lick each other) The original phrase in German is: Was sich liebt, das darf sich necken. (Those who love, may tease each other) He changed one letter and made the phrase a Rammstein phrase. Cheers!

Okay so after giving this song a year to settle, I actually quite enjoy it albeit for rather macabre reasons. The line "Ich liebe dich wenn du mich lässt, und nagel dich drauf fest" is by far right up there with the most deranged Rammstein lines ever. As abominable as this line is, I like it for all the Rammstein reasons you could think of.

Instrumental a huge number, WTF!!!! Well, in the 1st moment, you thank OK= All right.....NOOOO, it would not be Till Lindemann if he comes up with a completely different interpretation. This song you can only laugh, HOW DOES ONE COME UP WITH SUCH A TEXT, EXCEPT...TILL LINDEMANN.....😅😅😅 It's called OHNE KONDOM (WITHOUT CONDOM)..... The beginning comes with a female choir where "ohne Kondom" (WITHOUT CONDOM) warbles, then comes a few keys from the synthesizer (Flake, has on this record, in all songs, a hear value as well as already, so you can not call Rammstein as a rock band, there are just too many electronic elements added). After that the tempo is tightened up as usual. Lyrically it is propagated that the sexual intercourse is really REAL only without condom with different sex partners. However, very humoristically brought over there it says: Many holes are to be plugged No mind, but a lot of sense Is rewarded with constant dripping One sticks, does not stick in it My opinion especially to emphasize in this song, as Till sings the "WITHOUT CONDOM" with this outstanding voice color, there you see again his excellent talent as a singer and coverage of octaves of his singing voice.
