Tbf, all audis are shoehorned in to their engine bays.. and i dont know why they wouldn't have checked the starter prior to putting the engine in. Same as all the coding, intake flaps, engine mounts, those rusty bolts on the crank pulley, marking vacuum lines with numbers, gettingthe right starter motor.. it's just about doing things properly.. the workshop manual is there for a reason. And the S6/S7 is not the same engine as the Rs6/Rs7

@@TheDarkhorse82 it was an S6 starter motor rs7 engine
@galaxion62 Жыл бұрын
@@TheDarkhorse82 Great comments here, but these individuals seem not to heed any wise advice given in the comments section. As you wisely pointed out, to refit a starter motor from a seized engine without having tested it knowing the difficulty of access once the engine is fitted, is close to insanity. So is not labeling pipes with matching numbers to their locations, considering the amount fitted on this engine!. With all due respect, it's clear these guys are merely fitters, but not engineers... is a big difference. As soon as I spotted the melted electrode on a removed spark plug, I commented that detonation seemed apparent after having cut my own cylinder head profiles in the past. That's what happens when you run boost levels to the degree they are, detonation lies just around the corner due to the increased volumes of air passing into the engine. They will not learn from that, as they are going to do the same or similar by mapping this engine too, is a case or naivety!. The cause of the last engine failing, was not purely just down to the fuel octane rating alone. Could be compared to jumping off a boat into shark infested waters, knowing your friend had their leg bitten off at the same location you're jumping into!, cheers.

As an automotive technician for over 35 years. Two ruels of thumb. Always bench test a starter when replacing a seized engine and, always tear a junkyard engine down to long block before installing. Always use the known good parts from the original engine. Never use a junkyard intake/exhaust manifold, fuel injectors, or other electronics. A regular mechanic would loose his ass having to pull the engine 2 or 3 times but, the good news is that for a youtuber, it's just more content. I mean. Who else can make money on an engine that won't start? You guts are great. I love the channel and It's so great that your back in Tavarish's shop. You work great together. I love it.

As as former Audi Master Tech I can confirm... They were designed not to be worked on. The reason the fuel pump wont prime on the relay is because there is an independent fuel pump module. The easiest method is to lift the right side of the car only, then remove the pump. Most of the fuel will be pushed by gravity to the driver side of the tank. You can start syphoning from there. On a full tank you may have some mess to clean up. The tank has anti syphon tech so you can't get a hose down the fill if someone was wondering.

Man i rate the patience of Mat and the guys for always managing to smile and keep the build moving. I know for a fact id of blew my lid by now and im actually a calm person lol. Years ago i couldn't get locking nut off wheel on my Ford Orion ghia (showing my age lol) after 15min and plenty knuckle scrapping the boot lid rear arch and back window took the brunt of my frustration and temper with tyre iron swinging😮. Yes i did regret this 10min later.

I’ve never had a smile on my face as much when someone was failing so much in turn. However, your positive attitude no matter what the outcome really is incredible to watch. Your dad and Freddy are amazing in their own right. That never give up mentality is what will keep you being successful in this KZbin community

Matt you and your dad are Hero's, so much mishaps and still grinning and smiling. The only place where I saw something similar was on Bali where most people are Buddhist. Deep respect for so much positivity giving the situation.

I've been following these videos of the RS6 and it brings joy to my face seeing how you overcome problem after problem. I've done a little bit of auto work myself and it seems to go the same way. Seeing you not throw in the towel and learn from the process is inspiring.

The level of determination and patience is something else, this may be such a headache for Matt and his dad but it’s what makes these videos so good. Freddie is just everyone’s best friend, such a likeable guy. Hope you sort this starter out, there’s nothing you cannot do? Always prevailing! Keep the videos coming, 38min ones too!!

You, your dad and the team are amazing, what a journey. That was more dramatic than the most dramatic episode of Eastenders but this is actual real life and your cliffhanger is better than any cliffhanger they ever did. I'm on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to see what happens next. Incredible, Thank you.

Weird that the used engine didn’t come with a starter. As always awesome stuff. Keep it coming.
@minitune7285 Жыл бұрын
If it had come with a starter as it’s an unknown you would always test it off the car. The question whether to test his own starter while the engine was out is a good one. With such a complex engine out build it would have been prudent to check it just due to the fact the engine locked up but to burn out the starter in this fashion is more than unusual. The mistake with the intake manifold flaps if you didn’t know you wouldn’t know. The rookie error was the fuelling.

That’s actually crazy, taking the engine out once is bad enough but 3 times. My friend your a hero!! To not give up💪🏻

I can’t believe how much you have learnt. You have actually properly diagnosed issues to know what needs done to fix, on a super complicated engine like that is very impressive, don’t let this one beat you mat ❤
