I've literally just bought an A5 B8 2.0 Turbo so really enjoying watching the project develop and discovering the "mystery history" behind your S5. Mine was never a write off but I keep finding little things here and there that raise questions or suspicions. As for your wheels, nothing wrong with going budget in my opinion, they naturally suit the car and a set of 20 inchers with tyres for £400... mate you're laughing. looking forward to the next video

I believe it is possible to check the actual mileage using diagnostic software like VCDS/VAGCOM. The car CPU stores the car's mileage independently from the odometer. Very handy for checking if these cars have been clocked. Thankfully, my S5 showed a difference of just a few 10s of miles between the odometer and the CPU's mileage readings and there are factors which could see a small discrepancy of that size.

Bro, don't care about the comments. You should be proud of what you have and what you can get. The alloys look pretty nice! Few curbs ain't nothing. And as for the tires, who cares? We know it's just for you to be able to drive the car at least. Then they will be changed eventually. You're one of the few UK channels that actually do proper stuff with cars!
@evansnr4 жыл бұрын
The first thing I do when buying a used car is check the mileages on the MOT cert. it never ceases to amaze me just how many cars are clocked. Not just the expensive stuff either. Lots of £1000 cars clocked. Always check the mileages recorded on the MOT before buying ! If there is a discrepancy walk away!

Good that you look at the car with open eyes! A car like that, it doesn't matter if it's 90 000 or 120 000, I gave away my A6 2.5 TDI to my sister at 430 000 miles, still running good.
@jackmillin4 жыл бұрын
That's a good bit of research to find out the damage and mileage. If you use VCDS you'll be able to go into the modules and find the correct mileage and when the front air bag was set off as well, you can get dodgy copies of VCDS off eBay for about £30 and enable loads of extra bits on that S5. Good upload again, cheers 👍 Jack

I don't know if its the same on your car but on my golf r using an obd11 you can read the mileage from the gearbox so if it's on the original gearbox (or at lease the gearbox ecu) you should be able find out the true mileage there.

I want to change the steering wheel and the gear knob on mine. The gear knob to a front button (s3 or 4) involved melting the plastic rod and twisting it to move the hole. Would be a good mod and I'd be particularly interested to see how you get on and if youd reccomend giving it a go.

Quality video again. I think the focus ST next door needs their alloys refurbing as well😂 be careful with the Audi V8, at around 100,000-120,000 the pulleys wear out and that’s not a fun job. Keep up the good work though bud.

It will likely run fine with fake spark plugs, BUT!!! I reckon the life of the spark plug will be half of a genuine one if that. I must check mine now , cos I put in platinum plugs around 40k miles ago and my car has been running a bit lumpy for a while now. Platinum plugs are good for 75 to 100k. I will check mine asap , last thing I want is to get stranded somewhere

Alloys looking smart! I really don't want to see too much done to this car but I do at the same time. 4.2ltr I think it's great left stock. Even stock exhaust, peopel said to me to put milltek on mine but I just can't do it as it sounds great as it. Leave the milltek for the 3.0 imo lol

😦😐😶👂👀Duuu waaaa???;Are you trolling? Your trolling .. HAHAH I get it now because at first I thought you were serious about not putting the exhaust on a 4.2. which is one of the biggest malls besides putting a supercharger onand is one of the first mods almost everybody does because of the beautiful sound that it makes. I've experienced both with my factory exhaust it sounded like I was driving a Honda Accord. Seriously. It's like sending it through puberty it's voice is 180° different and the tunnels and bridges🙃
