You are really underselling the JAS39. Especially the C in both early and later variants is on top in advanced sensors and systems. The radar it has in game now has about half the range that the initial Gripen C has from 2005, the 39C also has ability for towed decoy but not from a pod but from the missile pylon that currently has large countermeasures in game. What it lacks compared to EF200/Rafale is the ammount of suspended armaments and engine performance. In all other aspects JAS39 is the same or better...

And useless for even WVR as teh flankers are already capable of pulling more AoA than they really want to and paying for it ... giving them MORE AoA dumpstering theyr energy retention even more will not change a thing while it will make the airframe again heavier for no real benefit ... as for avionics you can see how much those help the SU-34 that is already ingame with them ... and weapons ... the only step up for R77 is the M variant, which has the terminal guidance booster but thats about it and R73M that can pull slightly more Gs ... which is IRRELEVANT when the russian planes are losing due to lack of flight performance and lack of range ... neither of which are helped by taking SU-27 airframe with the same engines and slapping more junk to it ...

People don’t realize how these new 4.5 gen fighters will be like, remember back when the f16 and mig29 came out during the apex predators update, we got a new generation of fighters, they were the fastest, climbed the best, had the best missiles, had the best dogfighting performance, they absolutely destroyed everything in its path and I have a feeling that’s what’s gonna happen with these new 4.5 gen fighters, they’re gonna be the most maneuverable, the fastest, climb the best, have the best radars and missiles, etc. this is a huge step up in the game and people don’t realize how good these jets really are

4.5th is not a thing. It has advantages over the previous jets in its generation, but nobody was calling the F/A-18A--D a "4.5th" jet even though it offered many soft factors that the Tomcat, the Mig's of the time, could not offer. Nobody looks at the F-104 or the F-105 and says they're "2.5th" jets, even though for the requirements for the time and the issues the previous jets in their generation had they improved and solved in comparison, they are still 2nd generation jets. The Eurofighter may be very good in comparison to other jets in the generation, but if the commonly associated traits of a 4th generation are maneuverability and superior technological weapons advantage, then this jet dots the I's and crosses the T's. It is a very good jet in the generation. But never once has any other abnormally good jet in any other generation or jet in the 4th generation category previously been singled out as "4.5th" or "4+" and it only started a few years ago when people started wanting a way to glaze their favorite jet even more than just accepting it for its good's and bad's and needed to label it as higher status to get off at night. The Su-35 - as good as it is - does not earn itself a new generation. The Gripen - as good as it is - does not earn itself a new generation. - The Eurofighter Typhoon - as good as it is, does not earn itself a new generation. The Rafale - as good as it is, does not earn itself a new generation. The F/A-18E - as good as it is, does not earn itself a new generation. Insert any other number of jets that suddenly everyone over the recent 6 years has taken out of the 4th generation category and put into this fictional "4.5th" category-- Su-30, J-15T, J-10C, JAS39E, F/A-18F, F/A-18G, Mig-35, F-14D of all ridiculous things are jets I've heard being taught as "4.5th" generation jets. THEY ARE HIGH-END 4TH GENERATIONS!!! The F-4F ICE is not a 4th generation just because it gets AMRAAM and a better radar!!!The SHAR FA2 is not a 4th generation just because it gets AMRAAM and a comparable radar to the An/APG-65Q!!! The JA-37DI is not a 4th generation because it gets access to aa better radar and AMRAAM!!! Even when jets in a class how an abnormally higher performance than those around them, take the Lightning F.3, out speeding and outclimbing all opponents of the time, breaking Mach 2 and achieving an incredibly high thrust-to-weight ratio, while also sacrificing its maneuverability for that speed, often relying on its missiles and radar. Those characteristics sound an awful lot like I could be describing a Phantom or Mig-23. That jet is a solid 2nd generation jet - even if the time of its introduction and its service life took it into the era of 3rd generation jets.

When you see the spec of Typhoon you feel like it is better than rafale. But all nation that made a competition to know which aircraft to buy. Rafale won all the time. Unless they start changing weaponized radar systems and ordinance it will be a reskin of existing planes, flight models and weapons. The technology is at a point with the current generation of planes and weapons where the game would need to change before anything feels new. The weapon systems available to current generation of fighter planes in game now if made available would break the current game. The current weapon systems dog fight at 100km away. Not furballs.

those migs are total bricks - all they have is speed and F/A-18 is inferior platform to any non naval jet from the seventies ... way too many compromises to get the price down and still make it carrier capable ... frankly F/A-18 should have been introduced back when MiG-23 MLD was the best USSR tree had to offer and right now it would be about the same "level" as the AMRAAM armed Viggen - worse performance than even Phantoms stuck at 13.0 ...

Putting this with the mig23 would make the winrate for the us at that br 90%

@@TremendousTrash can go mach 1.7 when its contemporary twin engine counterparts can go mach 2.3 ... also it can do 1.7 mach CLEAN ... with full payload its SUBSONIC ... can pull AoA but is limited to 7g when others are rated for 9G and while pulling that AoE bleeds speed like any other high AoE plane while also having absolutely anemic engines that make it very poor in a rate ... can carry whopping 6.2 tons of payload when even single engine F-16 can carry more (7.7 tons) let alone F-15 that can lug around 10.4 tons no its a plane that is severe compromise that was put in service to drive down costs, in just about any aspect other than maintenance and cost the F-14 was FAR superior plane that could have served instead of Hornet if given the avionics upgrades... and if put against the MLD the 23 as it was would STOMP the Hornet until the SuperHornet that would be just about on par with it ... MLD would be faster, hold energy better and utterly demolish the Hornet in rate - it would be exact mirror of the old Mig-21 BiS vs F4E just with the roles switched around this time with US plane better in AoA and the russian plane better in the ratefight instead we got MLD absolutely demolishing anything and US tree stuck with 1964 model Phantom going up against 1985 model of the MiG ... the IDEAL meta for that "performance level" would have been F-111B + FA-18A on the US side vs MiG-23 MLD + MiG-25 on teh USSR side with each plane having distinct advantages and disadvantages but also opposing match that could keep them in check ... instead we got leapfrogging OP monstrosities in MLD dominance into F-14 dominance and constant "one plane owning everything" meta one patch after another ... with none of the "filler" airframes that all are still missing from the game and if they were introduced now would be nothing but useless filler for the already overstuffed tech trees

However, the Su-33 will be no upgrade for the russians. If you really think that the most BVR capable F15 is not enough to be a counterpart to the early eurocanards, then my friend, I think you should start asking for the F-22 at this point.

If they give this thing the Meteor missile it's going to make AMRAAMs and Phoenixes look like nothing. It has a max range of over 200 km (124 miles) and a no-escape zone of 60 km (37 miles) where you're guaranteed to die if you get shot at with that missile. It has a ramjet engine giving it a max speed of Mach 4, so good luck going cold to try and evade it. Even if you lose it in the notch it can still re-acquire you if you get careless and recommit too early.
