Happy life, happy wife starts with the men’s ability and strength to understand the opposite gender. Some women "fight" through fight or flight mode most of our lives---illnesses, traumas, work problems, family problems that keep coming once you've solved the first one. Not even in a victim way, just sort of a critical mass that becomes difficult or impossible to get through. This idea of a woman being in "freedom" being attractive because she's confident confirms what I already know-- that women with a solid foundation of love and friendship in childhood are light years ahead of us in confidence because they have less bad experiences with men. But for those of us in fight or flight mode, that's okay. We can still be confident in other ways--thinking before speaking, setting healthy boundaries, and surrounding ourselves with good people. We don't have to breeze into a room and say something charming to everyone there...we can cope with less attention if it means we get to be our authentic selves.

Another thing I really noticed about a man once was I was entering an establishment, and he happened to be leaving. He literally tipped his hat, and nodded to me as we passed each other. That has only ever happened once to me, but is something I likely will never forget.

The other thing that shocked me about it was that I was in my late 20s at the time, and he must've been in his 40s or 50s. That's class! 50ish years ago I was in a bar watching a band. I did notice a guy in a cream suit (it was around the time of Saturday Night Fever) making his way through the people on the other side of the dancefloor. Next thing he was next to me, told me I looked beautiful and ....... disappeared into the crowd. Thank you, whoever you are. Never forgotten. I live in a small rural Spanish town. Years ago, on a warm summer evening, the lovely young girls were out and about in the main street, the lads were madly revving their motorbikes to get their attention. I agree with you on these for both men and woman. I do however think you missed one, how they dress. Dressing in a certain manner conveys a sense of pride, caring enough about oneself to make an effort. Recently I cleaned out my closet and invested in some needed pieces for a new position at work. These pieces transformed my wardrobe. I found men approaching me more often and being a lot friendlier. It took me a few times before realizing it was the clothes.

As I am tall for my age group, I definitely noticed height on a man, hair seems to be quite important to me, (my daddy had thick black hair, so perhaps that’s the reason) I look at their teeth and their ears, I look at how they’re groomed how they take care of themselves, I also watch where their eyes go when they’re speaking to me if they’re fully present and not scouring the room with their eyes that shows such a sign of respect and I alsolook for qualities like a man that would stand up when you enter the room, pull out your chair at a table, open your door. Thank you; we're never to old to learn! What I notice first about men is their general appearance - do they take pride in their appearance and do they care enough to be clean and neat on a date? I am accustomed to men who actually shaved before meeting me - even if they had a full day in the office, they always shaved before we met up because they knew that I had sensitive skin and actually needed a clean shaven date. And their teeth were freshly brushed as well. I am now retired and too often men looked like they'd been wearing the same clothes since yesterday - and maybe they hadn't brushed their teeth, either. My time is valuable; if you want me to invest time with you, make it worth it.
