Old age and deteriating eyesight meant giving ready tied hooks a go. The Pole Specials are used for float and Preston Revalution for feeder. Just wish Guru Pole Specials were available on metre hooklengths so I can chop to length I want. Have word with the Guru lads Rob please.😄 Excellent tip about changing hook when it does not go through bait cleanly.

Love those thoughts Rob. I agree with the straight point hooks, we called that shape crystal bend hooks, just like a 90340 we used on the trent years ago. I use the exact guru hooks for feeder fishing now barbless and microbarbed. I use reflo mono and agree your comment on flourocarbon, I personaly think its too soft and flexible. I may have used middy if they had not gone bust as I have quite a few of the feeder rods which are brilliant. But for float fishing on rivers I now still use B511 for seed and maggot fishing and if perch are present I Knock up to B611a little thicker but they set the point better. May 2025 be your big year, best of luck.
