With the "Tarzan" question, you can hear the questions begin to fall into what I think of as the Match Game standard. Up until this episode, it's like the writers were trying to find their footing, and with this question, they've begun to do just that. Incidentally, I'm watching all the episodes in order starting in January of 2022.

Wow, when they introduced the new contestant (Sarah D.), I was surprised-she looked so contemporary compared to all the other women who'd been on the show, like she'd suddenly arrived from 2020 to play the game!

I agree with you Kevan Houser. The contestants are usually pretty good-looking people with, as you would expect, a 1970s feel both to their hair and their dress style. However, contestant Sarah Dunning is timeless. Her looks would certainly not be out of place today.

Actually not the first to give their own, someone in the first week gave their own but only netted $100 for it. I think Helen also gave her own answer three times out of four, but indeed hit for $500 for all of them.

Watching these pre-Brett episodes its so obvious that SHE brought a lot of what would become the signature style of the show....like the irreverent off-topic rants and crazy unscripted banter between the stars. And she was so often the butt of the jokes but she totally understood that was her place. She egged the others on and totally set them up to take shots at her, thus providing a good deal of the humor. Charles is very entertaining here, of course, but throw Brett in the mix and it takes off! She didn't sit there for 9 years just because the producers were nice people.
