Charles scored his 13th H/H match today. And he did it with grand style! Definitely the best card reveal in the show's history thus far, definitely worthy of the "Gold Star" designation! With this match, Charles moves ahead of Betty for second most H/H matches overall (after Richard), and he's also in a solid second position in terms of being most frequently chosen for the H/H match (again, behind only Richard). And of course, he has the highest accuracy score among the regulars. Here's the updated leader board for the 8 celebs to have scored 3 or more H/H matches so far, ranked by their current accuracy scores: Orson - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Betty - 52.2% (12 wins in 23 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 46.7% (7 wins in 15 attempts). Charles - 46.4% (13 wins in 28 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Richard - 32.3% (41 wins in 127 attempts). Brett - 28.6% (6 wins in 21 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 280, excluding the lost/missing episodes 31, 32, 33.

Definitely one of the best Match Game moments to date (I've been watching them in order since #1). Charles was superb and turned a great moment into an event that I'm sure Janet and many audience members would never forget. Today's episode demonstrates why MG became the top-rated daytime program in 1973 and then grew more popular still in 1974 (and would continue to grow its ratings in '75 and '76).

I never seen any "records' of Jack and Brett divorcing. The only "records" I've even seen is that they split up, NEVER got divorced, which is why Jack couldn't marry his girlfriend until after Brett died. Which I always thought was STUPID. I don't condone divorce (and neither does the Bible), but if he already had his mind made up to may another girls, why wouldn't he have just divorced her. (also I never heard Brett OR Jack say anything; where's that)?

This is a good example of two first-round questions with decidedly different difficulty levels. (Slight spoiler) ........ >>>> The challenger's question was decent for a first-rounder, but didn't exactly lend itself to any specific answer, and so we got 7 different responses (contestant and celebs). (I had no idea what so say, so I said "bra" because chances are that would come up. It didn't this time.) Then Janet got the Brett Somers question, and being an avid viewer of the show at home, she obviously knew the "correct" answer. The panel was unanimous, and surprisingly, even Donald got this one right!

Brett has looked really nice this past week. She has a tan and a new, becoming hairstyle. Some new clothes, and maybe new make-up techniques (I can't tell because of the tan). And she seems more upbeat. Maybe flirting with Anson Williams pepped her up. Maybe there was a new man in her life. Someone else commented that she turned 50 this month, so maybe she decided to take it by the horns and wrestle it into something beneficial to her. Whatever, it adds to the positive vibe and general merriment of this stand-out week.
