There is nothing wrong with being a stay at home parent but there is no reason to invent some fancy sounding title to try and make yourself sound more important. It'd be like if I was a janitor and said I was a "Pollution Control Specialist"

For Beverly not going on to win, that is tough. She should be happy that she did win a small amount of money. Not sure how much it would have cost to go to Italy? Beverly should have given the money to her in-laws. And the rest of the family gave money to send the elderly couple to Italy

The incredibly sweet, earnest Beverly is my favorite contestant ever! It's heartbreaking to watch her frustration over her repeated Supermatch misses contribute to this being her final appearance. Obviously the panel really adored her too.

Most of her super matches were not easy, too broad. Like the contestant before her got "blank Birthday". They should have finally given her one that had an obvious answer.

How can she not said Godfather, it was a give away answer, everyone thought she was going to say this one, Italy = God father, come on but she said Grampa. Richard was trying to help her, she could had walked out with almost 8,000 dollars with that one, she only got 2,300 I think, that's enough to send two people to Italy and bringing them back and still save some money, this was the mid 70s so it wasn't as expensive as today.

It would have been the definitive answer in almost any other time, but not in 1973--in 1972 the movie on everyone's lips and consciousness (even if they hadn't seen it) was The Godfather. It was super-popular and it had just won the Best Picture Oscar in March1973. These shows are such interesting time capsules, not just for the fashions but also for the allusions and references to what was going on back then. Thanks so much, MGP, for these uploads!
