@@Ladywolf-du9lw Yes, she played Blanch Jefferson Madison, Oscar Madison’s ex wife. She appeared on around 5 episodes. And she was also married to Jack Klugman (Oscar Madison), in real life. Many people don’t know that. They had a son together who appeared twice on the “Odd Couple”, playing a young Oscar Madison in a couple of flashback episodes.

Today Richard scored his 9th head-to-head match, moving well into the lead for total matches, which isn't terribly surprising since he's appeared in every episode since the start and has been chosen so many times. This improves his accuracy % slightly, bringing him almost up even with Brett now! Here's an update on all 5 celebs to have scored 3 or more matches so far, along with their current accuracy %: Betty - 42.9% (6 wins in 14 attempts). Charles - 41.7% (5 wins in 12 attempts). Bert - 30.8% (4 wins in 13 attempts). Brett - 28.6% (4 wins in 14 attempts). Richard - 27.3% (9 wins in 33 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 133, excluding the lost/missing episodes 31, 32, 33.

Me too. Also, I think he mentioned in an earlier show that he started out as an NBC page. And @ 16:03, "He went from showing people to their seats to making them laugh out of their chair." Me: Really? *Cue audience groans*

My theory on this is that A. Most men weren't interested in game shows back then and certainly were not at home during the day watching them. B. They were busy working supporting their family. So there were very few male contestants. When prime time game shows started.... different story.

If feel bad for that girl that Les just threw away her shot. I wonder if the rule of no people in media or advertising for contestants came as a result of people like Les who sometimes it almost seems like he got a little bit of an extra hand in winning some of the rounds.

Evil eye was my answer. But of course, it was the 70s -- I should have remembered their weird obsession with that dreadful man (who nearly killed someone and maimed him for life because he said that Knievel was -- a batterer. After a risibly and offensively short sentence, Knievel was once again free. The bastard).
