I just realized something. The game show back when it was still running at CBS Television City, the studio where they record the show is the same studio that aired the Price is Right. Studio 33 aka the Bob Barker Studio. I didn't realize it until I saw Gene Rayburn on the floor with a missing shoe.
@rhyancoleman64628 ай бұрын
A lot of great shows were shot in that studio. Jack Benny Red Skelton Carol Burnett and so many classic game shows.

H/H match update: ... Our stalwart regulars Richard, Brett, and Charles are joined by all familiar faces for this 111th week of Match Game which originally aired in late September 1975. Bobby Van (aka Mr. Elaine Joyce) returns for his fifth (and sadly, final) week on the program. He's been chosen for the H/H 3 times and matched once. It'd be nice to see him get another chance before he "retires" from the show. Sarah Kennedy is back as well, for her third of six total weeks. She hasn't had a shot at the H/H yet. Maybe this will be her week? And joining our regulars in the sixth seat is none other than Betty White! When it comes to the H/H match, she has the best track record of this week's panel, with CNR close behind. But as we see week after week, the contestants generally don't choose celebs based on how well they have actually performed in the head-to-head match. We'll see who the winning contestants choose... ... but not today! Just like the start of last week (episode 541), the contestant takes Richard's suggestion and strikes out on the audience match board... Better luck tomorrow! Meanwhile, here's the current leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts). TIE: Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Fannie - 50% (9 wins in 18 attempts). Betty - 48.4% (15 wins in 31 attempts). Charles - 45.2% (19 wins in 42 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 38.7% (117 wins in 302 attempts). Brett - 38.3% (18 wins in 47 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 551, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

It was fairly common then for women to work until the couple had a good down payment on a house, maybe bought a better car, then she could quit and focus on raising a family.

We don’t just have six dummies this episode… The are all dummies lol. Only one point scored for the first two rounds (There was at least one other match, but only one point was needed to win)… I Think that may be a first. On the audience match, after watching the first two rounds, the only answer was: Knuckle Head!

Okay, so Mary works in the school system, she's obviously intelligent, but as soon as I heard her talk, I thought "Uh oh." She sounded too prim, too proper. Weirdly, intelligence doesn't always work on this show, in fact, sometimes it works against you. You have to catch the ribald vibe, and smart people don't always get it.
@steveyounker78979 күн бұрын
Now, see? But she was close, she was really close with "torpedo," but most of the panelists didn't get it either! A Fay Wray sandwich, please! Why would he have to go to a naval base to do that? Anyway, King Kong didn't eat people. Not even sailors, Brett.

Richard's rather rude about the non-submarine sandwich answers. In many areas of the country, other (older) names such as hoagie, poor boy, and hero sandwich were still very much used.
@kevansf Жыл бұрын
In defense of Richard, I think "submarine" had to be the definitive answer here (although Brett's sailor sandwich wasn't bad). But then I grew up in a part of the country that called them subs long before the Subway Sandwiches fast food chain came along.
