Charles Nelson Reilly won serious accolades for his direction of Julie Harris in the Broadway play, "The Belle of Amherst." More than just a snappy dresser!
@markkonzerowsky88717 жыл бұрын
I think he lost the Tony to Jack Cassidy (see the episode of Match Game '75 on this channel entitled "Wild Beginning" or some such). Also, according to Wiki, "In 1961, Reilly was in the original cast of another big Broadway hit, the Pulitzer prize-winning musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. For his memorable origination of the role of Bud Frump, Reilly earned a 1962 Tony Award for featured actor in a musical."

H/H match update: ... Today's action: An easy second victory gives our champion another shot at the big money. Today's audience match question: "House________ " (My thoughts: wife, hold, of ill repute) The celebs: Richard (Wife), Joyce (Keeper), Charles (Paint) The choice: Wife The answers: Warming, Boat, Wife Well, our champion has called on every panelist except Patti now (because she called on Richard twice). Despite not matching Richard last time, after seeing their prolonged smooch today, I imagine she'll stick with him... As predicted. This is now Richard's tenth straight time chosen for the H/H question, and he's matched three of them so far. Of his last six questions, he's matched once. Going back a little further, Richard has matched 12 of his 36 most recent attempts (33.3%). Today's H/H question: "Leap _______" (This one feels like a coin toss to me. My first thought was leap year, closely followed by leap frog. One of the two must be the definitive answer. Since 1976 was a leap year, and that was my first thought anyway, that's my answer.) Richard writes immediately and looks at Patti as he files his card. His answer looks more like five letters to me than four, but I'm often wrong when I try to guess by watching him write. The contestant gives my answer, and says it with confidence. The audience sounds thrilled. Richard has that blank expression that I see when he has the matching answer. He fools me again (I would hate to play poker with him): "Frog" -- Well, like I said, it was 50/50 today... No match today. (And after pulling ahead of Brett two days ago, he drops behind her yet again in the accuracy rankings.) Here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Charles - 51.7% (31 wins in 60 attempts). TIE: Betty - 50.0% (18 wins in 36 attempts). TIE: Fannie - 50.0% (13 wins in 26 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Brett - 40.9% (27 wins in 66 attempts). --- 40.9090% Richard - 40.9% (210 wins in 514 attempts). --- 40.8560% Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 839, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, and 645. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

What brand of watch is Richard wearing?
@Observer-jw8wv2 жыл бұрын
I believe it's a Seiko Quartz LC, judging from the watchband. He was a gadget lover, and those LED quartz-movement watches were the newest, coolest thing on the market in mid-1970s. Someone else pointed out on another episode that he was wearing a Casiotron, which was also a new toy a couple of years earlier than 1976.
