Michael got screwed on that "Four Leaf Clover" one. That was such the obvious answer, that i would have been shocked if everyone didn't have the same answer, including the entire audience.

"4 leaf clover" was pretty easy for a first round question. Thanks for posting these videos!

Those who were involved with this show can say they implemented the star wheel for the head to head celebrity match in 1978 to give all celebrities on the panel a shot at said match all they want, and perhaps there’s some truth to that, but I still say the real reason they did that was because Dawson was costing the money; it’s well known he had a real knack for matching contestants, hence why they always picked him.

Jangler333 That’s hysterical, in another thread I also mentioned how the new set looked like the Confederate flag. But if you look at the entire background, you realize it is only a small portion of a larger design.

I actually believe that MG gave away more money once the wheel was implemented than before the wheel with the audience match totals having a chance to be doubled. MGPM for an example 1. 219,450 dollars, 2. 171,300 dollars, 3. 182,200 dollars, Wheel added to show 4. 319,600 dollars, 5. 283,800 dollars, and 6. 267,450 dollars (This season was shorten by 4 episodes). MGSynd 1. 425,950 dollars, 2. 364,500 dollars. Trying to decide how to compared to CBS run as I haven't finished tracking 76-79, take the first 35-39 weeks of those seasons.

Oooo, that Michael Becker sounds delish. Wonder how he turned out. course I was 7 when this was on. I love older men, but that might be a bit too much...lol. Boo Booo Booo. poor Michael. He had some great answers. Those "dingle berries" messed him up. Oh well. Fare thee well, Michael.

The celebs went too highbrow for the high places question. The definitive answer to me would be a window washer. High places = big bucks, so pilots and astronauts would be no different. Dumb Dora would give her someone working for pennies (trapeze artist and Lama would be closer).

I'm pretty sure he meant "front end" as a clever car based innuendo for boobs. I'm glad in the end it didn't matter since he would have lost anyway.

Am I crazy or did it seem as if Debra Lee Scott fell in love with the male contestant? Anyway, Dick Martin was funny (let's hear it for her front end), Brett was talkative as usual, Charles was crazy-insulting, Richard looked good in his white suit, and Joyce looked interesting in yellow. Oh, and the female contestant was so exciting you can't help but root for her. She did get tense until Richard came through for her.

Gene is always saying that the first round questions are harder than the second round, but they're not. I've been paying careful attention to the questions and that is just not true. And the proof is in the scores. There's very little difference between the first second round scores.
