The problem with USA is they’re too individualized. They don’t embrace the team aspect and don’t spend the time playing together as a team to compete anymore.

@ this has been around far longer than the WNT. It was originally chosen as nine-ball because the game was more suited for TV than 8-ball or straight pool. 10-ball is the new format that defines the top players more than 9-ball and it would make sense to use that medium to play against other countries.

I was just pointing out that it far preceded the WNT and if we want to truly test skill it should be done with the medium that requires the most skill in the sport and still provides entertainment for the viewers. I agree they won’t change it any time soon and probably not ever. But it should be changed or the trophy becomes less meaningful.

table roll off, no table is perfect especially when the balls are rolling slowly... can be caused a number of things such as uneven cloth wear or tightness, slight leveling issues, dirt on the cloth, etc.

It would be crazy if the USA doesn't win after they bought Gorst and Matchroom took Filler out of the European team. If Europe wins now it would be the most embarrassing Mosconicup for the USA ever!

@robdetuinman2 if you look at last year's outcome, gorst didn't make much of a difference. But since Filler is not in the team anymore I don't know how much it will effect Europe's game. This year is indeed gonna be a very interesting one.

We all know that Gorst can do better than that and I'm sure he'll do better this time. Matchroom does what's best for the event and the USA hasn't won much lately. Matchroom needs the USA to win or the Mosconicup will lose quite some American viewers. Keeping Filler out should do just that. It's just sad for the viewers that there isn't enough quality in the USA that they have to take it away from Europe as well.
