Each animation looks the same for each tech. Top players can memorize that for each character and tell which tech the other player chose from the first few frames of the animation.

@@itzmasterz yeah i know but i always thought it was standard to react to fox/falco tech in place by looking for the Y shape, but apparently its not true? So what are they reacting to then

@@wwpl8371I didn’t realize you were mentioning what the commentators were talking about and not what was happening on screen, because a tech in place happens slightly after the time frame you put in your original comment… Anyways, I’m not sure why they say it’s a myth. It’s probably because they actually are reacting and are pissed that they never realized the animations telegraph where the character is going. Tbh we could just ask wizzrobe when he streams. He’s the best player in the game for tech chasing so he would know if the other players are full of shit lol

@@itzmasterz There's no way armada amsa and joshman haven't exhaustively studied the frames of the tech animations, those guys are top players and can techchase like 90-95% as good as wizzy can. Im just curious what they're looking for when they react to tech in place because i've just been looking for the Y and if those guys say it's fake then there must be a better way

Whatever he says he does is most likely the most correct answer out there. The other players aren’t exactly known for how good they are at tech chasing specifically. You might as well ask the expert himself.
