Nice Lotus ! I have the same 61 Chevrolet and eventually it will get put in the mix of projects. I owned a 61 right out of high school and I am going to do the diecast just like I wanted to build the car years ago. 🍻

I like the '61 a lot for a variety of reasons.

A miracle all 4 tires are still there.. A lot of this era Matchboxes one way or another commonly lose their tires..

Nice! I like the way you did the wheels. Not sure what Matchbox was thinking with those wheels haha! However, I love them! I did a fleet of Unimogs and used O-rings for tires. Hardly can tell the difference.

Brilliant job ... a pre race Lotus as the post race would either have smoke from the engine or bits missing as Mr Chapman's cars usually did not look that good during or after the race lol ...

Great work as usual. I am sure it has been mentioned in comments, but just in case it hasn't- have you thought about putting some kind of marks on the cutting mat to delineate the out of bounds? It might help you to have something to see when you are concentrating.

Nice work! Last year I'd watch Marty fixed one along with another race car, I hope you find the blue one day it would be nice to have that one to go with the Lotus and hope your order of parts for the Jaguar will come in soon, And I see you got a Matchbox Nissan Z Series there's also the Hot Wheels GTR and wish Matchbox also made them becides the Z Series.

02:09 - New goo! A bit of a shock after the 'Swamp Of Doom' that we're used to seeing. Hope it works well - I understand that most paint strippers have been 'de-fanged' somewhat.

That's a long story. Let's just say the original UT changed my life, literally. I needed faster and faster computers and started building my own, selling them, repairing them, etc . . . I had LAN parties and owned servers for both the games and voice over IP software. UT, SoF, UT2003, Star Trek, Call of Duty . . . name it, I probably played it. I ran online servers for a gaming team . . . yeah . . . I went all of the way off the boat. Now I just play single player UT2004.

New stripper... p'tui!! Like I've said before, ain't no stripper like an old stripper! 😉 That "little guy" with the helmet looked alot like Bob, my uncle..! (I was anticipating you saying it, but you didn't. Don't worry, I got you covered.) Brilliant idea, btw, UV resin-ing the tires.
@bentandre55244 жыл бұрын
thumbs up for sure, but i think its not a bad idea to have some of those cars without the driver, for instance when they are in or on a racetransporter….but then it wouldnt be a complete resto

Since you say they're in good shape, and the Z cars are among the few castings that Superfast wheels actually look right on (as opposed to, say, heavy construction machinery or airport shuttle buses--come on, Lesney), I'd say go ahead and use 'em. I mean, given how often they're ruined and/or on the wrong casting, how often does one get the chance? :)
@kenrk4 жыл бұрын
I wonder if you saturated the wheels with oil or something if it could help restore them to their original size? You would think old wheels would get smaller with time, but apparently the opposite occurs...
@TimeRider4 жыл бұрын
Maybe the hubs get smaller?
