They’re racing hard in “Martinsville!” Great job, Marty. The colors are beautiful. I may have sanded down the sharp edges of the new front “tires” (made from those washers) to get them to look like original Matchbox rubber, but other than that minor detail, another spectacular pair of restored cars saved from the race car graveyard. Great craftsmanship...

Excellent video, I love reading the newspaper headlines in the spray box. Particularly the "Chimp's head out on a human" which when blocked by a paint pot becomes "MP's head out on human" A Marty classic. Another terrific Matchbox renewal as well !

Couldn't sleep last night so went from watching many Megabatti bat rescuer videos to Marty's Restorations. Both of you are terrific. Great rescues & restorations in Australia. One to save the past, on to ensure the future. But after all this video binging I'm heading off to buy some lettuce seeds & Qtips.

I already had a Lotus that is in excellent original condition. Now I'm going to have to look for a BRM! Thanks, Marty, you have inspired me to restore my original 1950's Matchbox models that were missing parts or broken. Keep it up!

Marty! What a great idea to work on two at a time. Since you have all the decals printed, paint mixed, and wheels made, you should make 5 or 6 at a time and sell the others to us fans of your show!

My God, Marty....I am constantly amazed at some of your solutions to restoration challenges....in this video, the broken exhaust. When watching these, and you initially identify a “challenge”, I try to think “how would I address that?”. An inflating needle would never have crossed my mind! Outstanding, amigo! Incidentally, I have all of my Matchbox cars (200+) from my and my brother’s childhood in storage. These Formula racers were some of my favorite....planting an interest that has lasted all of my 64 years. If memory serves, I also had a red Ferrari....complete with the “prancing pony” emblem. I am going to have to open the sealed boxes where my cars are stored to investigate....and visit the idea of restoring them. (The three of them would look nice displayed on a stained walnut base!) Another well-deserved “Bravo-Zulu” for an especially enjoyable video!

Hi Marty! I'm a Matchbox fan since the early '60s, living in New Holland, Pa. You have a great restoration video channel! I build mainly 1/25 scale plastic car and truck kits now, and have also restored or reworked Matchbox and Hot Wheels vehicles. One detail I always do to my models is to black wash grilles and openings, and add flat black to some areas. Since you add some silver to the grilles and other areas, a slight flat black wash would really make them pop. I love your work, and having a supportive wife is awesome! Thank you!

Thank you Marty for finally restoring these two cars so I know the necessary steps to take when I restore my two. Perhaps the funniest part is two vintage 1960's Formula 1 cars racing on NASCAR's famous short track oval Martinsville (nicknamed the Paperclip). This probably offended racing snobs of each sport around the world w/ too much time on their hands so trolling is their only outlet! Love the exhaust solution. Just brilliant!
