This is the first time for me to see 1/74 scale diecast car and it looks amazing after the restoration.

That’s some small intricate work you do. I used to have so many hot wheels and matchbox cars as a kid. Nice mods

Ha! You found it. Thanks for the nod. I told you I was working on this and just about ready to hit it with metallic brown when I found your excellent video on the very same model. I had to change it up, but I think you got to the perfect colour first. I like your wheels better too, but I have to work with what I've got. Sorry I didn't mention your channel by name, but now the secret's out. I hope nobody compares mine to yours. Be safe, and keep your great vids coming. I'm learning so much from you.

@@MapleLeafCustoms Well that brown i used is by Auto air colors 4346 metallic light brown. it's a beautiful colour and would go well with those type of castings..

Hi Andrew, it's Jeff from Diecast Powder Coat. Thank you for your comments on my channel. I'm sorry but for some reason, I couldn't reply. I will send you a heart if it comes up later. Thanks for subscribing and I have done likewise. Your channel looks very interesting and I look forward to watching your videos. As for the powder coating, it is a case of not going over it too heavy, just a light dusting. Whites and cream can be a bit of a pain as for some reason, you have to put a bit more paint on. Thanks again for your comments. Take care, Jeff

Hi Jeff, thanks for the sub. I guess we'll be visiting back and forth on each other's channels! I've already gone online shopping for a powder coating gun because I'm real keen on what you're doing and always trying to learn new things. The paint finish on your cars is outstanding. Can you suggest a brand in the budget level for a beginner? In the meantime I'll keep watching you and learning. Take care and be safe.

@@MapleLeafCustoms Hi Andrew, I'm glad you got my message. I you a UK company called Electrostatic magic, but there must be some similar one's else where. It doesn't need an electrical supply. The gun gives out a static positive charge and you become the negative. I do have a video. Powder coating railway keys where you can see it. I also have a KZbin friend called Martin. His channel is called Retrorestore and he goes in depth with it more. Thanks again, Jeff

Good day to you Andrew, as always you have done a beautiful job on this Continental. Im glad you went away from the original colour as your choice on the new one is so much better. These were fantastic luxury cars in their time and you have helped to recreate their elegance with those fantastic white wall tires and chrome hubcaps. As a bit of a stickler for originality I have to say that this is one of the best restorations I have seen on any channel, well done. Also a quick pat on the back for the nice tail light detail which was correct and for the extra effort in preparing the window insert. A top quality job all round. Thank you.

Hi Norman. Thanks so much for that high praise. You're too kind. I'm my own worst critic and I see areas where I can improve. But I'm learning new skills with each restoration. At the moment I have the advantage of having lots and lots of time... Be well and stay safe!

Awesome! Would love to do one of these. Where did you find those wheels? They work perfectly. I realize this is 3 years ago now, but any help is appreciated.

I'd have to rewatch the video (it's probably explained in there). If my memory serves me correctly, Greenlight made these particular wheels, which do indeed fit the Lincoln! Thanks for watching, and greetings from Switzerland. ☕️🍁👍

Wow, this turned out marvelous. Exactly how I would have decided to do it. I really like those wheels. They are greenlight wheels right? Quite hard to come by in europe. They really suit this casting perfectly. Nice job!

Thanks so much, Leo! You're right. Greenlight wheels for the win. You got it. I think they looked more period correct for the Lincoln.
