Nice job! Monteverdi was a swiss car manufacture in the 1970's and 80's. He built only 2 monteverdi hai." Hai " is the german word for shark. All the best from switzerland

Yup. Never went farther than prototype. Then again, he asked 27k$ back then and that was quite a lot for such a car in those days.

Good luck with yours. I have one as well. Purchased it already paint stripped and taken apart, although it is missing its wheels and axles. Repro wheels are available, and I have to make some new axles. Probably use some small nails for the axles. I'm not sure what colour mine was. There is a green 2 tone and silver 2 tone version as well as the purple.

"I'm not sure where Matchbox came up with this orange,um, but we're going to change that today." Sounds good to me! I had to look this up as well. The body shape has some familiar lines; it turns out that Hai is German for shark. Your restoration is worthy of the HP!

That's a neat colour. Blends well with the blue windscreen. Ever thought of painting the inside of the doors the same colour as the rest of the interior, like the actual car? I think that would be a nice touch as well. On another note, your kids are very fortunate to have an in-house repair facility for their tiny little cars.

The best thing about Monteverdi is that it was another of the many car companies that were founded as a direct consequence of someone having a fight with Enzo Ferrari. (Other examples include basically every '60s Italian sports car company that wasn't Alfa Romeo or Lancia, including most notably Lamborghini. :)

Monteverdi Hai one of the craziest names in car manufacturing I wonder why they didn't sell many? apart from the price. there was a 3 minute ad for Carling in the middle of this one, I sat and watched it all coz it was a band playing rock/punk music in a pub. Look forward to your next one.

Great job bro! I've been thinking about getting into the small scale work, I build mostly 1/24, 1/25 but I do have some matchbox cars from when I was young (the mid 70's) There all beat up some I even painted when I was around 5 so you can imagine what they look like, Lol. I you the same Vallego paints you use and to thin them try using windshield washer fluid, (the blue stuff not the orange) Just the cheap old window fluid, Not Windex, but the stuff you put in your car, It's mostly wood grain alcohol, distilled water and a little flow agent,it doesn't effect the color but it does dry alot faster so you have to adjust your air pressure so the paint atomizes correctly and doesn't dry before it hits the car, (its ugly turns out rough and pitted) I noticed you used Pledge... I'm guessing you mean Future Pledge acrylic floor shine? Great stuff, I sometimes thin my acrylics with that too, acrylics dry pretty flat but if you thin them with the future pledge wax they gloss up a bit, again thanks for the video great job bud! 👍👍.......................... Mike(Whitey).

I'd look up Monteverdi Hai and this Car is real and it's also in red most be rare brand of sport car that not many people are familar with? There are so many rare cars waiting to be decovered.
@redcarguy4 жыл бұрын
Side note: Monteverdi himself had the biggest modelcar collection in europe (around 11000 cars). The museum is no longer existing and the modelcars were sold. I've got two '48 Tucker Torpedos from Solido in 1/43 from even this Monteverdi collection. More about the museum on www.monteverdi.ch

3:33 - "No comment" 😚 I also have a couple of questions,if you don't mind: - (1) - Wouldn't it be better to paint the doors separately from the body,& then put them back together? (2) - This might be a stupid question,but,regarding the paint stripping process,the boiling water with the caustic soda,does that have to be done in a glass bottle,or could you get away with using a plastic container instead? - Thank You. ----------------------

One of these build's sand it with 600 grit dry then dry to 1000 grit. Then wet sand and use dish soap to lube it when wet sanding . Then wet all the way to 3000 grit then ma Hine buff it . Then go back over it again 1500 to 3000 grit . Then machine polish again . Now clean it good with De greaser or lacquer thinner . Then airbrush some clear coat on it . Check my page to see what I can do at facebook.com/skullreaperzzdesign's . I make some wicked customs !
