I agree with the accolades regarding Betty White. But I think Richard Dawson really wanted the contestants to win more than any panelist. He fought with the judges and truly wished for the contestants to win when he crossed his fingers. A truly kind good man in my opinion. RIP

I watched this new, back then. I was 12 during 1973. Wow that first contestant sure looked like John Ritter! I wonder if he was told that alot. The female player in pink dress, Nadine, looked age 16 or 17. Charles Nelson Riley was a hoot on The Ghost and Mrs. Muir sitcom, from 1969 and 1970. This game was funny, but the current reboot reeks. Alot of popular tv stars were on this.

When this show was brand new and current in the '70s I am pretty sure it never aired on Australian TV. I feel as though Aussies missed out on real entertainment because we didn't have very many free-to-air broadcast channels to choose from and cable/satellite wasn't available back then. @@finnsterling6514 No it's shutting down free speech and open debate on university campuses and the entire entertainment industry which has the ability to influence society in ways beyond measure currently being stifled and crippled by a wild raving mob who will destroy careers and create pariahs over anything they arbitrarily disagree with. The happy holidays nonsense is nothing more than a canard for much greater issues. Match Game reruns in Canada today airs with a preface warning that states "the show features prejudices of their time that were wrong then and wrong now. We show works like this in order to facilitate debate thought and discussion on such topics." Even GameTV is so afraid of the mob that they have to preface and pre-empt the outrage that would be forthcoming from them with that bloody disclaimer.

@MegaRazorback4 жыл бұрын
Depends on what equipment is available at the studio, only some were equipped with the latest tech while the rest weren't...Those clip on mic's were only just starting to become a mainstream thing back then even though they had been around in various forms since the 30's but even in the 50's they were still rather bulky and annoying to wear. Basically for the longest time the clip on mic's were a niche thing up until the 60's for the most part but once they started to get smaller and smaller their popularity jumped a lot.

@MegaRazorback4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the channel, sometimes a show will switch to another broadcaster for a number of reasons, the main ones being the network hosting the show axes the show due to poor ratings, the show in question gets a better deal to switch over and finally, the host/creators of the show are very unhappy with how things are run under the network and pull the show themselves.
