I watched The Mike Douglas show everyday after school in the 70's. He was entertaining, articulate and engaging! Loved it!

When the panel comprised of great actors and entertainers stands, applauds and approaches Mike Douglas, it is the sign of great respect and admiration. Thank-You for sharing this wonderful moment.

Mike Douglas had a talk show. I believe he came on to thank some of the cast for coming onto his show!

I remember watching Mike Douglas when I was a kid. Love re-watching the ones that are actually online. Was to the 70s what Oprah was later.

At the time, Mike's talk show was based at KYW-TV (then an NBC affiliate) in Philadelphia.

Actually, his show was shot at the KYW-TV studios in Philadelphia at the time. He did move to Los Angeles 2 years after this.

Mike mentions that the panelists surprised him on his own show so he must have been taping next door... perhaps doing a week worth of shows.

Mike must have been taping his show in Studio 31 (next door to Studio 33 where March Game was taped).

On another show, they wouldn't match bag, and baggie, but they'll match roller skate and skate board. OK.

Did they really all appear together on the Mike Douglas show? That would have been something to see... too bad it's no doubt lost forever just like a good percentage of pre-VCR talk show episodes. :( Also, what is the up with the judges? They'll match "skateboard" and "roller skate" but not "dump" and "garbage dump" (or "school" and "finishing school" for that matter)?

No, man, Mike Douglas wasn't the creator of Match Game. It was Frank Wayne who created the show for Goodson-Todman.
