Just like the infamous school riot episode, the contestant said "school." Charles said scuba diving school and got buzzed, but argued that it was acceptable because of the word school in his answer. The others answered with finishing and night school, but were buzzed. Based on the decision the judge made with Charles, the other answers should have been accepted too.

I enjoy watching these old game shows, but to be honest, I and wondering why Brett Somers was SOOO over the top with picking on Betty White. How the heck did Betty White not snap back at her? I think "I sold my jewelry" implies she sold all her jewelry or many pieces of jewelry, whereas a ring is a singular piece. It is questionable, though. In some cases they have brought back a contestant to play another game if the staff felt they unfairly buzzed a match. Not sure whether Cathy/Kathy got that kindness.

Brett was always setting up Betty (and Dawson and later Fannie and of course CNR) knowing full well they would come back with a punchline. Cant have one without the other. Brett was there, in large part, to be a target for the others. She knew that and played the part well.
