Wow, one of the few episodes from which not a single celebrity is still alive. Not one. It’s sad to see this great show age. Correction: Fannie Flagg is still alive.

H/H match update: ... Today's action: Brett's "Makes Luv" scores our champion her second victory. Today's audience match question: "_________ Wonder" (My thoughts: Stevie, One-hit, No) The celebs: Richard (Stevie), Fannie (Is it any), and Brett (boy) The choice: Stevie The answers: No, Boy, Stevie Interesting that our champion chose the same three celebs in the same order as last time. Makes me feel fairly confident that she'll choose Richard again for the H/H even though they didn't match last time. Richard will indeed be playing again. He's missed the last three in a row, but he's matched five of the last ten. Today's H/H question: "Wash and _______ " (Back to the easy questions. Wash and wear. What else? Nothing good.) Richard finishes quickly. He looks toward Fannie and ever so slightly shakes his head as he files his card. The champion gives the predicted answer. I can't imagine Richard would say anything else. Holy Toledo! (No offense, Ohioans.) He wrote "Dry"! I actually thought of that, but it sounded so uncommon compared to the better answer. This is one of those rare times when the contestant had the definitive answer and Richard was the one who blew the match. No match today. Here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Charles - 51.0% (27 wins in 53 attempts). Betty - 50.0% (18 wins in 36 attempts). Fannie - 47.8% (11 wins in 23 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 41.4% (188 wins in 454 attempts). Brett - 41.3% (26 wins in 63 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 767, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, and 645. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

I thought the writers were looking for "turtle poop." They love rhyming answers, and if you can say "doo doo" or "droppings," you should be able to say "poop." But nobody said it.

I don't know, they all were writing notes to each other all the time what you see him tear up might have be a note or him drawing something and then tearing it up. Could be wrong. He seems to be the card in the slot where he can pulled it out and lift from the front which might look like he had two cards ready. ;0)

I don't think so. They also didn't mention small wonder so there are a few that they didn't think of.

I googled one hit wonder. One of the articles traces it back to 1977. So this show would've predated the phrase.
