However, I have worked in 3 very large financial institutions over the last 20 years and upper management and management are overwhelmingly white men and women. I see more black men now than ever where I am currently. I’d say I see more black men in upper management roles than women where I am currently. There are some black women. But black women are mostly in HR those types of roles including recruitment. Take from that info as you will. I highly doubt those black men are needing or would go to her for matchmaking.

Due to our generational trauma, Black people have a hard time being accountable to each other in general. I laughed at that statement about BW in Corporate. From a 10+ year Corporate career. Companies typically put a cap on how many black people they will have in general, but especially Black Men. Meanwhile they have no problem keeping a bunch of Black Women around in entry & mid-level positions with absolutely ZERO upward mobility..if she's HR she knows that but won't say it. When I first got in, I peeped the work & looked around and thought, I have 3/4 dudes in my friend group alone that should be here getting than opportunity..even tried to get a few in but they weren't hired. White colleagues were able to get their family members, spouses & friends in. A sista can get an entry level corporate gig making 40 to 45K, start rubbing shoulders with white collar colleagues & executives and start feeling herself by actually looking down on a blue collar brother who makes MORE than her, i've seen it. In 2024, having a white collar or corporate job isn't the biggest flex in the world if you're not at the executive level. If you're making a nice income cool, but in reality your expendable and probably close to getting burnt out if you're not already there. And these companies don't want groups of competent, confident black men running around. In an office of 50 they might have ten at the absolute max, more like 5.

12:05 I work in a "corporate" setting as an engineer. It's one of the top 5 defense companies won't say the name just look it up. I see way more black men than black women at this company and the black women we do have work upstairs in admin roles. Alot of these "educated and successful " women be in HR and admin roles, nothing wrong with that but they mistake "not seeing black men in their office" as an indication of a "lesser pool" when that is far from the truth. Alot of black women are very incompetent when it comes to vetting men and one of the reasons is that they don't even be knowing the careers high earning men work in. They associate just wearing a suit as being "educated and successful". The women be making 70-80k in their pant suit and i make double that wearing what i want.
