All I can say is that wrestlers are unbelievably good at acting, Blassie was brilliant, Kaufman was obviously in awe of him. R.I.P To two giants of their professions.

Blassie was successful at what he did, both as a pro wrestler and as a manager, but it didn't come with a price. He had acid thrown at him, he got stabbed many times, he suffered a broken leg and ended up staying in the hospital,........ Some of the injuries he suffered stayed with him 'til the very end.

Yes. This worked masterfully. As David Letterman is telling him he stunk, and as he truly did stink, the audience is cheering wildly. All four of them the three guests and David are part of the routine. Brilliant.

@brianm28815 жыл бұрын
I absolutely would *not* want to insist to Freddie Blassie's face that pro wrestling was in any way fake. Not in that era, especially. The man was tough as nails, and probably could have kicked most people's asses up until the last few years of his life. One of those old school wrestlers who looked like they knew 10 ways to remove your thumbs and only 6 ways to put 'em back on.

I like how Letterman kept that woman guest out there with Blassi and Kaufman. It becomes even more surreal. Like, wtf am I watching? Classic TV. She was a good sport about it. Is this really network TV? Back then, this kind of thing hardly ever happpened on TV. Now, with reality bs tv, it is actually annoying to watch the bs that goes down as a program on TV today.
