Helo,Why do these crystals rotate, why do they not stay in place, why do the x-rays not go directly to the detector, and why do they have to pass through the crystals?

the crystal basically filters the incoming wavelengths. So that the detector can analyse each wavelength at a time. This method will lead to better resolutions, better quality images, ...etc
